The monitor came out of hyperspace with a shudder. As it slowed to normal speed it pulled into a field of debris. The remains of the once mighty Kex Shipyards.

It had been the most powerful base in the quadrent. Now it was a surprisingly small cloud of small metal chunks.

Prowl called the engine room. "Wheeljack. That was a pretty shaky shakedown cuise. Please give me a status report on ship integrity."

Then over the ships half working PA. Which hissed and whined with feedback.

"Jazz, Ratchet, Hot Spot. Report to my ready room." Then he spoke ot Mirage.

"Mirage, start a systematic scanner sweep of this debris field. Se if any of these chunks have anything we can use."

"Aye Captain." Mirage replied. He began the scan.

Without a moment to spare, Jazz entered the ready room. "Wonder waht Prowl's got up his servos." he said alloud.

Wheeljack shrugged a little. He punched some buttons on a datapad before replying.

"Hull Integrity is a 96 percent. Might just be a couple of loose bolts here and there. We were kinda in a hurry, ya know. I'll take Bee and we'll do a in depth scan to make sure everything is bolted down properly."
--------------

Ratchet grunted in response but showed up as was asked. By and large he ignored everyone around him unless it was necessary to do otherwise, like now.

Prowl strode into the room with Hot Spot trailing behind him.

"Be seated." He said as he moved to the display monitor at the end of the table. He pressed the power key. It sparked and fizzled at him. "Hmm... Fine." Prowl turned to the assembled.

"Mechs, I only want to spend a few cycles here. Jazz, Hot Spot. You two will each form a salvage detail. Hot Spot you will operate out of our shuttle, Jazz you'll operate directly off of the Monitor. We need more weapons. Pick up anything serviceable. Wheeljack will prepare you a list of components he needs for repairs or for stock piling.

"Ratchet, we didn't have time to survey the Repair Bay. I assume you have had time to assess its condition?"

Re: Grave Robbers - The Monitor

Ratchet grunted and crossed his arms over his chest.

"The repair bay is slagged. It'd take a miracle to get everything working."

"Then just get most of it working, Doctor." Prowl said. "Our miracles are rationed."

Hot Spot stood. "Well no time like the Present!"

Prowl addressed the blue mech."Actually, Hot Spot, I wasn't-"

"Understood, Sir!" Hot Spot shouted. "I'll salvage some spiffy slag for ya! And no worries, Doc." Hot Spot slapped Ratchet on the shoulder as he passed. "If nothin' else there must be a TON of spare parts out there!" Then he walked out the door.

Prowl looked stunned for a moment. Then said dryly, "Wow, I sure am glad we took that guy into deep space with us..."

Jazz gave a smile and presented Prowl with a kickin' salute not uncharaicteristic of him as he strode out of the room. Later, he exited the Monitor with a jetpack on his back. He turned his headlights on for better visibility. The small thrusters powered him along the debris as he sifted through the multitudes of floating junk.

He eyed something just out of reach that might be salvagable. It glinted with what little light was emitted from Jazz's headlights. The object was just barely too obscured to make out what it was. But it gleamed, showing that it was not as decrepid as the other pieces of scrap around.

"Jazz to Hot Spot. Jazz to Hot Spot. I think I found somethin', stay tuned." He began thrusting to it, shoving large pieces of scrap and useless junk out of his path.

"What do'ya got, Smoothbot?" Hot Spot replied From the shuttle.

Hot Spot... belived he had learned to fly a shuttle once... But the Lambo twins and Bumblebee, who he had taken for this ride, were beginning to doubt it.

Jazz got nearer and finally pushed one last bit of crud from his path. He frowned deeply.

He held two fingers to his comm, "You don't wanna know man." he stated.

Before him was a body, or what was left of it. Only part of the torso and one of it's limbs partly remained. And loosely connected to the neck, the head. It stared back at Jazz with it's dead optics, piercing the very core of his spark. A chill ran up Jazz's chassis.

He silenty moved on. Memories of the war came to him as he floated on. The visage of the Junkyard Corpse was forever burned in Jazz's memory. An uneasy reminder that there is alot at stake.

Sunstreaker groaned, "Why do we listen to Prowl?"

Sideswipe looked at his brother, "Cause we're morons?"

"We know you are...but I mean...why me?", Sunny replied.

Swipe shrugged, "Cause your ego is bigger than your logic matrix?"

Sunstreaker sighed.

The Twins branced themselves as the shuttle twisted hard to the left for no apparent reason other than Hot Spot didn't know what he was doing.

It wasn't the shuttle that was having problems, as Bumblebee intially thought. He wondered why Hot Spot had taken the driving seat when he couldn't drive to save his spark, but being the newest of the new at everything, the ensign didn't have much room to talk.

"Are we there yet?" he gripped tightly onto a handrail just as the shuttle burst into overdrive for a few seconds, followed by a nasty whip lash. Bee guessed that Hot Spot had just discovered the brakes. He fell forward onto Sideswipe.

"Sorry! Sorry..." he said, regaining an already unstable balance. "Don't suppose one of you could convince him to let one of you drive?"
Re: Grave Robbers - The Monitor

Sunstreaker glared at Bumblebee, "I don't know which is better, watching you squirm or replacing him as the pilot."

Sideswipe helped stabilize Bumblebee, "Ignore him, he's got a glitch."

Sunstreaker huffed, "Better than being one."

The Twins looked at each other then to Hot Spot as the Protectobot jerked the shuttle forward and left her shuttering for a few moments without cause.

Jazz finally found something of worth. An entire console that's condition looked fair at best. It had been ripped from whatever ship it was from but upon further inspection, Jazz deduced that it could be operational with minor repairs. It wasn't just a console he noted. It was a internal systems monitor. The kind used for detailing shield integrity, weapons capabilities and the like. Capable of monitoring loads of stuff within the ship, this thing could prove to be quite useful.

"Got some good news over here!" he said. "Bring the shuttle around so I can put this baby in!"

Hot Spot managed not to hit Jazz as he moved into postiton.

"Load her up, hoss. Then come aboard." Hot Spot said. "I think I got something on the scanner."

"Will do!" Jazz acknowledged. He loaded up the scrap monitor into the shuttle and climbed in after it. The air lock sealed behind him and he could here the rush of air as gravity was restored and he touched down to the shuttle's floor.

Jazz secured what he found in the cargo hold then headed to the cokpit. The door slid open and he saw Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, Bumblebee and finally Hot Spot at the wheel. "Whatcha got?" he said inquisitively.

"I just sent the scan to the Captian." Hot Spot said.

On the bridge of the monitor. Prowl looked over the relayed scan.

"Slag." He said, punching up the shuttle's com. "Hot Spot, that's a Sevron class 'Con scout ship!"

"Looks like salvage to me." Hot Spot's voice replied, accompanied by the sound of a cocked weapon.

Prowl's little grey proccessors did their dance. "I have a plan."
Re: Grave Robbers - The Monitor

After the meeting with Prowl Ratchet had gone to the Monitor's ' wreck of a repair bay. The place was completely scrapped. any piece of medical equipment that was of any real value had been removed long ago, leaving only outdated and broken hardware.

Ratchet grimaced as he looked around the room. He had no hardware, a broken down room and no tools. When Sunstreaker and Sideswipe 'brought' him to the ship they had neglected to bring the tool-pack he had been using.

'This is complete slag... everyone on this Primus forsaken ship is glitched.' He started looking through the cabinets, hoping to find something useful. Instead he found a small incomplete set of surgical tools. 'Better than nothing.' Ratchet started to clean and sterilize them. Then moved on to the rest of the room, pausing to balance himself only when the ship would lurch forward or stop too quickly.

He sighed as he cleaned off one of the berths, "This is absurd."

"Decepticon ship ehn?", Sideswipe said with a smirk, "How're we gonna hit 'em?"

Sunstreaker looked over the scans, "Scouting ship. Hmmph. Their weapons won't be high-yield."

The Twins looked at each other and nodded to the other.

"Whoa, slow down there terrible twosome." Jazz interrupted. "Just 'cause it's a small ship don't tell us whose on the ship."

Jazz approached the monitor and contacted Prowl through the comm, "Hey Prowl, I volunteer myself to check it out." Jazz was no stranger to danger and if anyone was going to get scrapped, it would be him, not his friends.

"Not this time Jazz." Prowl Replied. "I've seen what I need to see. Stand by for orders."

The scout ship and it's 12 mech crew had diverted from thier assignment do engage in some commerce. Trailing back through the fleets path of destruction they were making a "carrion" run. Picking up the scrapped chassis of offline mechs to remove any undamaged components for sale as spare parts.

It was looking to be a lucrative run.

Three missiles flew accross the ships bough, two flew off into space the third struck a chunk of debris. The explosion was close enough to make the scout ship shudder.

"Where the SLAG did that come from?!" The captian screamed.

"There's a large vessel moving in from the aft." The tactical office replied.

"Why didn't we detect it?"

"We did, sir. The computer classified it as a derilect."

"Well... lets prove it right." The captain said. "Come about."

"Autobot engine signature detected." The computer chirped.

The monitor fired again. "NOW it tells us there's a ship."

"Target Lock, Captain!"

"FIR-" at that moment a circular chunk of the ceiling fell to the deck. "What the..." The Captain looked up and saw Centurion Hot Spot peering down through the hole.

"We're on a mission from Primus." Hot Spot explained to the shocked commander.

A thick blue arm shot down into the cabin grabbed the captian by the back coller of his chest plating and pulled him up through the aperture kicking and flailing. There was a brief sound of thumping and clanging.

Jazz, Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, and Bumblebee dropped through the breach, weapons at the ready.
Have fun storming the scout ship.
This was it.

He faced the enemy with a small energy pistol, no prior combat experience, and hundreds of pages of battle reference stuffed into his memory banks from the academy. He could count at least seven Cons in the room, not including the one Hot Spot wrenched out. It wasn't a particularly favorable outlook, especially since they were in the enemy's stronghold, but it wasn't like the war was looking any brighter for their side as it was.

Spotting an opening, his energy pistol aimed straight for some bewildered Con's midsection.

"I got him!" the minibot cheered but quickly masked his excitement, "I mean, uh, let's get 'em bots!"

Jazz jumped down and made a landing roll clearing nearly twenty feet of the Con's flooring. He sprang up with his hands, flipped, and with his momentum, drop kicked the closest Con. The kick caught the bewildered Con in his chest, armor plating crunched with the force and sent him spiraling into the back wall!

Jazz stood and faced the majority of the Cons that were in the room, and without hesistation, his speakers and lights blared and flared! Blinding and disorienting the Decepticons!

"This party is over!" he said as his visor flashed blue.

Re: Grave Robbers - The Monitor
Post by jonhide on May 2, 2008, 11:41pm

The Twins jumped down, and started to move when Jazz did his light show. They paused and offlined their optics a bit too late.

"Aw. Warn a mech next time!", Sunstreaker yelled at Jazz.

"Please.", Sideswipe added.

The Twins shook their heads and rubbed their optics, then sprang into action! Sunstreaker leaped into the air, grabbing a ceiling pipe, using it to swing forward. The yellow Twin wrapped his feet around a Decepticon as he flew at him, then flipped backwards, handstanding then tossing the Decepticon back towards Sideswipe. Sideswipe jump kicked the Decepticon in mid-air, launching him to the side into a secondary terminal station.

Sunstreaker spun in his handstand and cartwheeled into a crouching pose beside another 'Con, He brought his fist upwards with a powerful uppercut to the Decepticon's chin. He then followed with a quick spinning backhand, then ended it with a rising knee to the Decepticon's face!

Sideswipe flipped and double jump kicked two Decepticons. The red Twin immediately followed through with five quick punches to one of the kicked Decepticons mid-section. He ended his barrage with a grappling throw, tossing the 'Con towards Sunstreaker!

Sunstreaker roundhouse kicked the flying enemy in mid-air, launching him into a collision course with a wall!

Sideswipe swept the other kicked-n-stunned Decepticon's feet out from under him and followed with two rapid heel-stomps to the 'Con's chest! The red brother brought down a powerful fist into the downed 'Con's face to finish it!

Hot Spots voice replied. "Boo-Ya!"

Prowl waited a moment. "I was actually hoping for more detail."

With the command deck secured, Jazz jumped onto the comm "We got the Cons stunned, gunned and on the run! We still need to sweep the ship's barracks and cargo bay though."

Unknowing to Prowl, Jazz ducked just as a shot flew over his head and blasted the back wall. He laid some suppressive fire down the hallway and the Cons scrambled for cover. "Soooo, bout a nanoclick there boss!" he said with a smirk.
Re: Grave Robbers - The Monitor

Sideswipe whipped around, ducked to one knee and fired three flares down the main hallway towards the gathered Decepticons, blinding a few of them. Sunstreaker flipped, landing in a roll and halted his movement as he fired two wrist rockets down the hallway. His rockets blasted two 'Cons in the chest and sent them to the floor!

Sideswipe jumped up, grabbing a low-hanging conduit pipe, and slung himself down the hallway. He dropkicked a Decepticon! Sunstreaker pulled out his rifle and blasted the dropkicked 'Con before he could even hit the floor!

Sideswipe roundhouse kicked another Decepticon as Sunstreaker shot out that same 'Con's knee joints! The Twins were on a roll!

Just as Bumblebee was about to get his second shot in, Jazz and the twins mopped the deck floors with Con faceplate. Lights, gun fire, fists, and mech parts whizzed all around him in a cyclone of kung fu action and total aft kicking. The room was once full of outnumbering enemies but the twins and Jazz could clearly hold two and three Cons a piece.

Some little fanboy part of him shuddered in jubilation.

He then proceeded to pick up his jaw from the Con-covered floor and followed the raging storm that was Jazz, Sunstreaker, and Sideswipe.

Re: Grave Robbers - The Monitor

Sunstreaker stomped down on a few disabled Decepticons just because he could. Sideswipe stretched a bit. The 'Cons in the hallway and bridge were taken out with little trouble. In fact it had almost been too easy.

"That was fun.", Swipe said with a smile.

"Coulda been better.", Sunstreaker responded.

With the Cons in the hall dispatched, Jazz putit in high gear and jetted down the hallway. He quickly double-took at it's end, "The coast is clear!" he said. He wanted to be the first to poke his head around the corner, not wanting any tragedy to befall his fellows.

He rounded the corner and kicked a few doors in, checking each room. No sight of anymore Cons. He kicked in the door to the barracks and a barrage of fire erupted. He shielded himself with his arm as he rolled to the side. He grunted from the pain, but it was minor damage, whoever it was was a bad shot. "Got one held up in the barracks!" He fired blindly from around the corner.
Re: Grave Robbers - The Monitor
Post by jonhide on May 9, 2008, 9:59am

Sideswipe took off towards Jazz, "He's mine then!"

Sunstreaker followed behind his brother, "Not if I get to him first."

The red Twin ran, spun 360 as he went by the door, firing into the barracks before taking cover beside the doorway. Sunstreaker stopped on the other side of the doorway as lasers randomly tagged the door jamb.

"Takedown 231?", Swipe asked.

"Ehn. 178?", Sunny responded.

"Works for me.", the red brother said with a smile.

Sunstreaker ducked down to one knee as Sideswipe jumped up, grabbing a thick conduit pipe, allowing himself to hang from it momentarily. Sideswipe swung back, planted his feet against the wall beside the doorway.

"Let's see if he shoots for slag.", Swipe quipped.

Sideswipe shoved off, swinging wide, then flying back in through the doorway. "COME ON CREEP! HIT ME!", the red Twin yelled as he flew through the door in mid-air.

The Decepticon fired wildly, missing Sideswipe by a parsec! Sideswipe hit the ground, flipped, then carwheeled to the left drawing all the Decepticon's fire. Sunstreaker spun 180 on his knee into the room, firing a wrist rocket into the chest of the distracted Decepticon.

BOOM!

The Decepticon hit the ground behind his quickly-made bunker of various crates and boxes.

Sideswipe jumped over the makeshift wall and fired one time into the 'Con just for good measure. Sunstreaker stood up and walked into the room.

"Too easy Bro. Too fraggin' easy!", Sideswipe cheered.

"Did you expect anything else? Look who he was up against.", Sunny commented.

Jazz didn't think twice, the Twins were nigh undefeatable when at te peak of their game. He continued down the hall to the final double doors leading to the cargo bay. The panel to open it was slagged. Not even an infiltration specialist could hotwire this piece of junk. Not letting this deter him, Jazz looked around for an alternate solution. Some gridwork leading to an air vent was above. He smirked.

"Hey Bumblebee!" he called out. "I think you can help us out!"

The vent was too small for him or the Twins to fit through. It would simply be alot easier for Bumblebee to climb thru and open it from the other side.

"Look Bumblebee," Jazz started to explain. "I'll help ya through that vent, at some point, you should come across where the wiring for the doors and the vent intersect. Simply override the door from there. Whataya think?"

There were a few sparks. Then the lights went out on the Bridge of the Monitor. Prowl heard the engines whine as they shut down. The hull plating creaked as the ship began to drift. Prowl looked out the front observation port. Some quick calculations told him they were about to drift into the 'con ship... Rather fast.

Prowl lit the darkened corridors of the monitor as he pelted toward the engine deck.

"WHEEELJAAAAAAAAAAK!"

Wheeljack qiuckly found the source of the problem. A small fuse. As fast as he could he changed it before rebooting all the systems, effectitively turning the ship back on.

During the massacre of Decepticons and shower of robotic internals, brave little Bee tried to keep up with the three. They knew what they were doing. Obviously. But he couldn't get much fire in when they had already taken out the enemies he just started to aim at.

"I want whatever energon they're taking..." he mumbled to himself.

Down the hall, he heard Jazz call his name and explain the situation.

A grin encompassed his entire faceplate.

"I can do that, no prob! Just give me your shoulder and I can get in." he said, eager to be of help.

Sunstreaker and Sideswipe walked around barracks, taking a few boxes of energon for their personal supply. Sideswipe tossed his bro a box of energon goodies.

"Ah the spoils of war. Good, wouldn't ya say?", the red Twin asked his brother.

"Good so far.", Sunny said as he munched on a couple of goodies, "I haven't had these in months. I forgot how good they can be."

Bumblebee gained a firm footing on Jazz's shoulder as he clambered up into the ventalation shaft. "No worries, sir! This should be a piece of oil cake! It's just like in the files I read back in the academy..."

Whether Jazz felt confident in the fact that text documents were substituting experience for the real deal was a moot point, seeing as the little bot was well determined to complete his task and nothing was going to stop him.

It was all quick work for the mini-bot. His small size was a near perfect fit for the vents and he reached his destination shortly. "I see the wires Jazz!" he yelled.

He took a minute to look at the panel of wires and cables just above the stubborn door. "Ummm...." he paused for another minute. "Wow...this is...not like the texts at all."

Unfortunatley, the academy only enlightened their students on 'Autobot' panel systems and not 'Decepticon' systems.

"I can do this..." with a swift prayer to Primus, Bee grabbed two wires and started to pull.

Prowl skidded to a halt looking down a long gangway that ran nearly the length of the engine. A row of manual crank switches lined the small corridor.

"Ah... Slag." Prowl began manually cranking emergency power generator to charge the first switch.

Wheeljack stuck his head around the doorjam.

"Hey Prowl, lemme know when you hit the fifth switch, I'll be able to power the engines when that one's on!"
Re: Grave Robbers - The Monitor

The door shot open. "That did it Bumblebee! Good w-!!!" Jazz was giving praise to Bumblebee in the vent above when he was blasted right in his rotator cuff. Gears blew off and lines were severed. Some shrapnel composed of his own body parts pierced into his next. The mechanisms in his arm whined and failed and the arm went limp. Jazz hit the floor from the blow and quickly scrambled to a corner as a barrage of rapid-fire violently peppered where he had just been.

His bloodoil began to flow profusely. He clasped his good hand over it, hoping to slow the bleeding. "Just another astro-second Bumblebee!" he tried to reinsure the rookie. He managed to get a look at what hit him. It was possibly the last remaining Con on the ship and he was barricaded by boxes and cargo. He had a massive manually fired turret lined up with the door.

Jazz stretched his leg out and managed to scoot his gun over to him. He grunted with pain but managed to repress most of the anguish he was in, keeping his cool.

"Slag. What am I gonna do?" he thought. He was more concerned with Bumblebee in the vent. He hoped to Primus he could think of a way to resolve this.

The Twins looked at each other for a half-second upon hearing the gunfire and Jazz's injury. They charged out the barracks doors. As they ran out, they flipped and rolled, as the turret shot down the hallway at them. Sideswipe flipped and twisted into a cartwheel out of the turret's line of fire, coming up right behind Jazz. Sunstreaker rolled, jumped up grabbing a ceiling overhang and slinging himself wide. Streaker flipped and ducked down as a blast rang out right beside his head. Sunny flipped over and rolled out of the turret's range of fire.

"You all right Jazz?", Sideswipe asked.

"I thought his name was 'Blues'??", Sunstreaker looked at his brother.

"I think right now it is." Jazz answered. "Right now tho, we need to worry 'bout Bumblebee first." he groaned slightly, more fluid escaping from between his fingers where he held his hand over the wound.

Sideswipe looked at his brother with a 'shut up expression'. He then looked back at Jazz. "Jazz. Hold still, I've got an idea."

The red Twin ripped a piece of panelling off the side of the wall near a broken console for the the lighting controls in the hallway. Apparently the 'Cons didn't care about keeping all the wiring boxes in tip-top shape. Sideswipe then pulled out a flare cartridge from his side pack. He activated a flare as he pulled it loose from the cartridge. FFSSSHHHHHH!

Sunstreaker watched his brother with close intent. "Primus."

Sideswipe moved Jazz's hand, "This is gonna hurt like the Pit, Jazz...kay?"

Before Jazz could even respond Sideswipe shoved the tore metal shard over the wound, followed immediately by the burning flare, using the leakign fluid as an ignitor to help melt the shard over the wound, closing it up.

Jazz gritted his teeth and his legs kicked instinctively. His good arm clutched Sideswipe's arm and finally, his cool melted, "Ahhhhhrrghh!!!" he screamed with pain as the holt liquid paneling dripped and spread over his wound.
Re: Grave Robbers - The Monitor
Post by jonhide on May 13, 2008, 5:35pm

Sideswipe's nerves were steady, well for the most part. He secured the wound and stopped the leaking. He sighed with relief, "Well at least it didn't fully ignite. You wouldn't have an arm left and I'd be handless. Heh."

Sunstreaker loaded a wrist rocket and threw his arm out, firing it down towards the turret that was already shooting at him the moment a bit of golden-yellow skin peeked around the cargo bay's door. His rocket missed by a good margin as Streaker twisted to dodge the gunfire and then quickly went back into hiding. Pieces of the door jamb shattered and sparked as heated rounds bounced off of it.

"Now that you're done over there. What are we going to do about this thing? That's a high-powered, armor-piercing turret with a combined motion-detecting and infrared targeting grid. Got a plan?", Sunstreaker asked, unconcerned with Jazz's well-being.

It all seemed to happen in a click.

Just after pulling the wires and fiddling with a few switches, the door *whooshed* open, and Jazz's excited voice went from cheering to a yelp of pain as gun fire exploded underneath. Bee jumped in reflex to the fire, hitting his horns against the top of the vent with a clang.

"Jazz!! Oh no..." he cried helplessly, unable to see what was happening below. His audio's told him that the source of the barrage was coming a ways behind the door, just down the passage left of the panel. He could also hear return fire, but it was drowned out by the turret gun's nonstop spray.

The mini-bot winced as he heard Jazz's screams. He was alive, but he was injured. They were a mech down.

It wasn't likely, it wasn't probable, and it wasn't wise. His officers had always warned him of the great disadvantages mini-bots possessed ever since he was sparked, all of the things his body could and coudn't do and why. For a long time he thought he'd come to terms with it and accepted it.

Staring down at the unsuspecting Con beneath him, he realized how little of that mattered anymore. Because now he knew this is where he'd proove to his comrades, prove to himself, that he was more than just the lone sentinel of a broken down friggate.

He steadied his hand, aiming for the center of the Decepticon's head. Vorns passed. He would never see it coming. His complete attention was on the entrance, and not behind him were the gun's barrel was held inches from behind. Bumblebee had climbed down without making a single noise.

BAM.

"I'm coming now, Jazz." he stepped over the body of the last Decepticon. "I'm coming."

Jazz heard the fire go silent and the surprise yelp of the Con. Then he heard Bumblebee and put two and two together. "That lil-bot has potential." he thought. There was more to that mini-bot then meets the optic.

Sideswipe helped Jazz to his feet and steadied the bot.

Sunstreaker heard the gunshot, it wasn't the turret obviously. He then heard Bumblebee's voice. 'Well, well well.'

Sunstreaker stood up and inched his way into the room, looking at the minibot who had killed the Decepticon and powered down the turret. Sunstreaker walked up to Bumblebee and leaned in as if he was going to give thanks.

"What took you so long?", Streaker asked Bee, "We coulda had a hot oil bath for as long as that took."

"Oh, uh...sorry about that." His face broke into an awkward smile, looking up at Sunstreaker. "Had to be sure I got him. I'm glad to see you're alright."

Bee's horned head poked around Sunstreaker. "Jazz!" he shuffled quickly over to him. "Jazz...I'm sorry, I didn't know! If I'd seen the piece of scrap before I opened it..." The usually peppy bot lost the cheer in his voice, shoulders drooping. "Can you forgive me?"

Prowl, through a complex feat of acrobatics that involved standing on one foot a pressing a button with his head finally got five of the archaic switches on at the same time. He collapsed as they fired up.

"Punch it, Wheeljack!"

Sunstreaker was examing the turret. "If we could get this on our ship...it would make for a great automated side-mount.", Sunny looked back at Jazz, "Too bad you can't lift slag."

Sunstreaker pulled two crates of ammo over to the turret. "What's the big blue idiot called again?"

"Hot Spot", his brother answered.

Sunstreaker hit his comm system and called out to Hot Spot, "Hey Hot Spot! Do you think you could help Sideswipe carry this turret?"

"Already volunteering me, huh?", Sideswipe said with mild annoyance.

Sunstreaker ignored his brother and pointed to Bumblebee, "Shortround. I know you're a cybershrimp, but think you could carry one of these ammo crates for that turret?"

"No." Hot Spot replied. " But I could carry 2 of them and a set of Lazy Twin's by myself."

Just then the ship shuddered, as if it had lightly collided with another ship...

"What the Slagmire was that?" Asked Hot Spot over the com.

"NOTHING. Get back to work." Came Prowl's voice in response.

He gave a quick nod to Sunstreaker, ignoring the jabs at his stature. He just proved that he could handle things in his own way and didn't feel he needed to say it. "Right-o!"

It was a little awkward since he couldn't fit his arms around the crate completely, but he managed and lifted it up. "I bet there's a lot of stuff on here that'll give us hand. This is a decent sized ship..."

Wheeljack threw the main switch, bringing the engine back to life.

"See, no problem." Wheeljack looked away from Prowl for a second, searching his databanks for the information he was looking for.

"Oh ya, hull integrity is at 95% now. There were a couple of loose bolts but I have them all tightend down. And the reverse thruster stabilizer is failing. I can build a new one but I need a quantum core charger."
-----------------------------------

Ratchet was becoming increasingly agitated with the lack of medical equipment he had available to him. After what seemed like a vorn he commed Prowl.

"If there's anything of medical value on that ship, tools, scanners, even if it's a slagging patch kit, I want it."

"I'll be alright." Jazz said to Sideswipe. "I can stand on my own." He stumbled after letting go of Sideswipe for a sec but quickly regained his composure. "Alright mechs. Lets get down 'n' dirty."

Jazz feebly went from storage locker, to crate, to holding cell, examining everything he saw. There wasn't too many things of use. Some spare wiring here, some dusty circuitry there, archaic welding equipment, salvagable quantum core charger, an Autobot, a few old medical supplies.....wait.

Jazz backpedaled and looked into a holding cell. It looked like a welder's cage only it had been modified to hang things from the walls, namely mechs. There hung a forest green mech with his arms bound and strung up to the wall.

"!!!" Jazz's strength instantly returned to him like an adrenaline shot from hell. He kicked in the rusty chain-linked door and came to the bots aid. "Hey pal, you okay? C'mon now say somethin' to me!" Jazz used his good arm but was unable to free the mech. "Can I get a hand over here!?" He yelled out to anyone. "Literally!"

Sideswipe bent down a bit to look at the mech. He had an Autobot sigil.

Hound finally started looking around, and saw two mechs, one that was primarily white and blue, with a Blue visor over his eyes, and the bot's right arm was riddled with holes, but yet was somehow still attached. This bot seemed to be barely standing, but something about that fact was impressive; this bot was definetley an Autobot.

The other mech was all red and relatively unscathed from this mission, and seemed to have an air of confidence about him.

"This isn't some kind of trick? Is this really a rescue mission? Oh, thank Primus. Who are you bots and what happened to your arm?" Hound asked.

"Woah! Calm down Sunstreaker!", Sideswipe said.

"Back off bro. You above anyone should know about traitors and scams!", Streaker replied to his bro, gently squeezing the trigger. He prepped himself for defense against everyone around him, in case they decided to get hostile with him.

Sideswipe walked up to his brother, "Bro, seriously. Settle down. We'll deal with him later if he's a 'Con. We can handle it."

"Oh hey Ratchet. Just got in a tango with the wrong end of a Con's gun. Lucky for me he couldn't dance well." he grinned.

"Sure thing." Hound said as he picked up another crate.

"So; Where's your Medbay?"

Prowl set down his pad now. "Were your orders not clear?"

Hot Spot had re entered and saw the problem that was arrising. He slapped a hand on Hounds shoulder.

"Hound! Don't bother, Captain, he's a little twitchy." He swept an arm out. "We are on a Mission from Primus! To defend cybertron and it's suburbs from the not niceness of Decepticon tyranny! Autobots wern't built for war, freind but by Primus we'll wage it to see that freedom is free to all sentient... things!" Hot Spot grabbed both of Hound's shoulder's and looked him in the optics "You are such an Autobot! The Right tool, for the wrong job!"

That sent one of Prowl's optic brow up.

"To day our mission is to schlep these supplies to our stout vessel. So Schlep for Cybertron! Schlep for the Matrix! Schlep for the Prime! BE THE TOOL!"

Hound looked at the blue mech with a raised optic.

"Schlep??"

Hot Spot Shrugged. "I'm blueish."

"Gotcha. So, want to help me schlep to the Medbay?" Hound asked

"I can see that, I mean the mass of melted metal and circuitry."

"Oh that!" replied Jazz. "Sideswipe came up with it. Good thing too or I'd be just another empty in the scrapyards. Although, it coulda blown off my arm but there wasn't much of an alternative."

Ratchet rubbed a hand over his face.

"Slagging idiot mechs."

He moved to examind the area, frowning.

"You're going to lose a whole section of your armor."

On his second trip to the ship, Bee noticed a first aid kit laying behind the crate he picked up.

"Better drop this off to the medbay." he said to himself, placing on top of the crate he was carrying.

"Hey Hound, I can lead ya to the medbay. I'm headed there myself."

"I'd appreciate that Bumblebee, thank you. So, how are you liking the crew here, I still don't know what to expect here." Hound responded to Bumblebee.

"A whole section?" Jazz thought for a moment. "Well I spose it'll make me lighter on my feet." he grinned back to Ratchet.

Sideswipe walked by the Medbay doors, he looked in real quick, "Have you seen my...", he saw Ratchet, "Nevermind."

Sideswipe took off down the hall, away from Ratchet and the Medbay. Ratchet had to still be upset by how he was brought on board, or at least Sideswipe still thought so. It was probably for the best that the Twins left him alone for now.

Even though Ratchet knew Sideswipe was halfway down the hall he still threw the wrench. It made a satisfying 'PING' sound as it hit the wall. He turned back to Jazz.

"Hold still or I might cut something vital."

After only a few moments the large section of melted armor was sitting next to Jazz. Ratchet started the repairs to the circuitry that had been damaged.

"I'm going to put temporary plating on but you won't be fit for active duty until I can fully repair this."

"Aww c'mon Ratchet!" Jazz complained.

Ratchet slammed down a sheet of metal plating next to Jazz's head.

"FINE! Go get yourself slagged then. But if you really want to join the Matrix don't come down here and waste my supplies!"

"Fine, fine. Its fine Ratchet. I was just messin' with ya." he gave a weak awkward smile back to the angry medic.

He flashed a grin at Hound. "Well I gotta say learning about all of this, and actually living it, is all too different. I kinda wished they gave us more real-life training on this stuff back at the academy..." the bot trailed off in thought, venting a sigh.

"But don't get me wrong, I love being here. I think you'll fit right in." Bumblebee shifted the large crate, trying to gain a better hold. "And it's a zillion times better than the job I had before."

"I think your right Bumblebee; The Academy definetly doesn't train us for this...
So, what were you doing before this?" Hound asked.

Sideswipe strutted down the hallway away from the Medbay, when his optics locked onto Bumblebee and their recent acquisition to the team. The red twin thought that this Houndseemed like a decent enough mech, but his brother did not seem to think so. In many ways Sunstreaker was a lot like Ironhide, slow to trust or make friends, but when they did it was for life; although in his case, Sunstreaker only had Sideswipe.

His ego usually prevented him from having any other friends, and there were times when even Sideswipe figured that the only reason why Sunstreaker dealt with him was because he had no choice since they were family.

“If you’re smart you’ll turn back around and come back the way you came,” Sideswipe chuckled, “I don’t think Ratchet’s really in the best of moods. In fact, there’s no telling what he’s doing to Jazz in there right now, but I valued my own hide enough to get out of there,” he warned Bumblebee and Hound. The future Lambo Brother was bored, he figured there was nothing else better to do anyway, so he might as well join in the pair’s conversation.

"I wouldn't think that our medic would be happy about one of his comrades being hurt, so why is it a bad idea to go to the Medbay?" Hound asked innocently.

The sound of Jazz screaming from the Medbay could be heard echoing down the hall, "AAAAAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!"

Ratchet's voice echoed after Jazz's screams.

"I told you not to move. Primus!"

Bee's wide optics stared at the medbay door down the hall. He paused for a few clicks and tried to push back the horrible images in his mind that accompanied Jazz's pained cry.

"It couldn't be THAT bad right?" Bee's optimism shined brightly, looking as innocent as Hound. "And I've got this for him. Surely he could use it right about now." he nodded his horned head to the first aid kit sitting atop the crate in his arms.

Hound heard Jazz's tortured screams, and shuddered.

"I hope his bedside manner isn't always that......terrifying." Hound said with wide optics.
"Well, Bee I guess there's only one way to find out."
