Sunstreaker bolts off in racer mode. He streaks and dashes
through the junkyard. "You comin' 'Swipe?", he quips to his Brother.
"I hope this medic just comes along peacefully.
I don't feel like dealing with another zealot in this army. Too many heroes, not enough deserving to be called such.", Sunstreaker
rambles as he drives faster, heading for a b-line towards the direction of Ratchet's current frontline positioning.
Re:

"Right behind you," Sideswipe replied as he transformed
into vehicle mode. He accelerated and tried to keep up to Sunstreaker, who already had a big head start on him. "Knowing our
luck, this Ratchet, will probably want to make things difficult." Between the two of them, Sunstreaker was usually the pessimist,
but Sideswipe just had a weird vibe this time.
"Anyway, let's get going. The faster we get there, the faster we can
get back to that pile of slag that we call a ship!" Sideswipe accelerated to full throttle, and came up alongside his brother.
The two headed towards the front lines and ultimately to their intended destination.

"Oh good. Sitting around a slagging junkpile while a flashy-eared freak and a uncharismatic
prick lead us nowhere or playing babysitter to a fragging medic who'll probably get us shot cause he can't do slag on the
battlefield. I'm so glad we joined this side.", Sunstreaker continued to rant to his brother.
Sunstreaker throttled
hard and kept going.
"Wait...Ratchet. That sounds familiar, doesn't it? Isn't he some high-ranking combat medic? Was
there another memo I deleted instead of reading?"
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by skyswipe on Mar 25, 2008,

"If you did, I'm just as guilty, because I must've deleted that memo too," Sideswipe chimed in. He couldn't
quite shake the feeling from his logic sensors, but like his brother, he seemed to remember hearing the medic's name somewhere
before.
Ah well, we'll meet him soon enough, the red twin contemplated. He only hoped that the other mech, was
in a forthcoming mood when the Brothers found him.
Sideswipe chuckled as his brother continued to ramble on; most people
found his constant complaining annoying, but Sideswipe often found it amusing. After having spent his entire life with the
other mech, he just learned to deal with it. Sideswipe figured it must've just been his defense mechanism to get by these
crummy times. Whatever it was, it was part of Sunstreaker's character and as pleasant as the peace and quiet might be...had
he adopted the silent approach, Sideswipe just didn't think he could ever get used to that idea.
Sideswipe snapped
the thoughts from his cerebral processors as his sensors began to buzz.
"Well, looks like we're finally here; so do
you want to ring the bell? Or should I?" Sideswipe asked his yellow twin, as the red racer transformed into robot mode and
approached the base's entrance.
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by jonhide on Mar 25, 2008, 7:05pm
As
Sunstreaker transformed beside his brother, the thundering sounds of a front line bombardment could be heard. This base was
only a short two kilometers from a trench-lined, defensive bunkered buffer zone that was currently under a large campaign
assault. This base was obviously the main station for this section of what was once the Tektras Heights.
The Twins
looked at the partly charred and busted structure. To the far left, it was plain to see that there was once a second structure
beside this one, connected by a large semi-domed hallway. This second building had been blasted into a caved in and crushed
ruin. To the right there was a large tore apart commuications array station. Atop this broken down array was a new makeshift
satellite dish and large multi-sectioned antenne tree, which were barely stable as they were hastily bolted and clamped to
the wreck of a structure. It was almost depressing to see such a horrible sight.
There were no guards at the entrance.
The Twins entered as if they were walking into a neutral civilian shopping center. Sunstreaker looked around the main chamber
of the base.
It was a large trapezoidal-shaped room with several broken terminals. There were eight Autobot soldiers
laying on almost too small recharging cots. At the far wall there sat a dark blue Minibot, who was reloading a large cluster
of rifles. The Minibot stared up at the Twins.
"You part of the new reinforcements? If so, grab some rifles and go
through there for data-prep.", the Minibot pointed to a broken sliding door behind him. The door looked like it had been rammed
in then forced opened and was now forever stuck partially opened.
Sunstreaker looked at Sideswipe with a "WTF is this
slag?" look. Sunstreaker took a few steps closer to the Minibot.
"No. We're here for some medic. Named Ratchet. Where's
he?", Sunstreaker stated.
The Minibot's orange visor flashed brighter, "Ratchet? He's in the slagstorm two kilometers
northwest. He's patching up the newest batch of half-dead. Why're you here to see him?"

They heard the familiar whistle... to loud... to close.
Just as they looked
to the sky, the mortars slammed into what was left of the structure. Screams rang out. The jerry rigged com. station erupted
in flames, consuming the engineers who had been futilely trying to shield it with their chassis.
The shells rained
down...
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by havoks on Mar 29, 2008, 11:17pm
Ratchet watched from a distance
as the aim of the assault shifted and took out what was left of the base. He could only pause for a few clicks before focusing
on the patient in front of him.
There were too many wounded soldiers and too few supplies. At this point he was only
able to repair them enough to send them back out to the front lines. He knew it was pointless but Ratchet refused to focus
on that. He finished the repairs on the mech in front of him and immediately moved to another. There would be time for futility
later.
I have been asked to
take over as Sideswipe for the next little bit, until Skyswipe can come back for RP'ing.
Sunstreaker
flipped and twirled as the base came blasting apart and crashing down around him. He glanced over to his Twin, who was also
jumping and flipping about, avoiding the debris and blasting impacts.
Sideswipe called out to Sunstreaker, "Why do
I always get shot at when I'm with you?!"
Sunstreaker smirked, "It's cause Primus hates you! And the Decepticons are
jealous of my good looks!"
Sideswipe leaped, snagging the blue minibot up and tossed him to safety as a part of the
near wall fell over in three pieces. "Better move lil' guy!", Swipe exclaimed.
Sunstreaker grabbed two loaded rifles
as he cartwheeled near his brother, handing one to Sideswipe. "We might need the extra guns.", he said to his red Twin.
As
the whole base was reduce to ruin, the Twins and the minibot began to run and dodge explosions. Sideswipe kept grabbing up
the minibot and pushing him along to safety. Sunstreaker almost admired his brother's heroics, except it was honestly putting
him in more danger.
"Let the bot fend for himself, he'll make it.", Streaker said to his brother.
"I imagine
he's okay with my help.", Sideswipe retorted.
"YES!", the minibot yelled out.
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost
by jonhide on Apr 8, 2008, 1:46am
After sucessfully navigating to safety, the Twins looked around them. They saw a
few mechs ripped apart and a sea of destruction...like usual with the Decepticons' assaults.
Sideswipe turned to the
Minibot beside him, "Ratchet's where again?"
The Minibot looked up at Sideswipe, still shaken from the ordeal. Then
he pointed into the distance where explosions and devastation could be seen in a rainbow of purple and orange explosions,
covered in a haze of smoky hell.
"Right in the Pit.", Sunstreaker commented.
"Thanks little guy.", Swipe said
as he flip-changed into racer mode and took off.
Sunstreaker look at the Minibot for a moment, "How do I look? Still
premium?"
The Minibot just stared in disbelief. How could this golden-yellow mech be concerned about his looks when
at least a dozen Autobots were slaughtered and a whole base, or what's left of it, was blown to scrap!
"Uh...", the
Minibot started to speak up.
"Nevermind. I'm sure you're not the one to ask.", Sunstreaker said as he transformed and
drove off after his brother.
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by jonhide on Apr 8, 2008, 1:56am
Sunstreaker
caught up to his brother, who had slowed down slightly to allow his golden bro to reach him faster. Sideswipe frowned inwardly.
"Too
bad so many of those guys were toasted.", Sideswipe spoke up to his Twin.
"It's either us or them. And we're better
than them. Remember that.", Streaker responded coldly. He didn't care about hardly anyone else other than himself and his
brother. That would probably never change.
Sideswipe sighed, "Yeah, but they didn't deserve to die like that. No one
does."
Sunstreaker throttled hard and pulled ahead of his red brother, "Swipe, better they be blasted to pieces of
slag than die in torture chambers or from shrapnel shreddings."
Sunstreaker hated being the "cheery one" of the duo,
but some times in this war he had to be. It was sickening though.
Sideswipe sped up and caught his Twin. Sideswipe
got what his brother meant, but at the same time he knew Sunstreaker's coldness wasn't a front, Sunstreaker really just didn't
care all that much about others. That bothered Sideswipe at times like this.
"I hope this Ratchet guy is worth the
effort.", Sunstreaker grumbled as he weaved between blasted craters and debris.
"Guess we'll find out soon enough.",
retorted the red racer.
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by jonhide on Apr 8, 2008, 2:18am
The Twin dodged
stray laserfire and shell explosions as they approached the main trench lines. As they got closer, mechs manning long-range
scanning terminals waved them through to enter the outskirts of the main outpost. Security guards lowered weapons as they
received clearance on the Twins to enter.
They saw a few makeshift structures, including the standard shot-to-hell
Medical Center, with the faded and busted insignia of the Autobot Military Medical Patrol (AMMP).
"Guess he's there?",
Sideswipe spoke up.
Sunstreaker scanned around him, "Something tells me we're in for a lot of slag here."
The
Twins transformed and looked around. They were in the heart of this trench line outpost. It was a blown apart scrapyard held
together by random axle grease and narrow-minded orders. Sunstreaker noticed several patched up Autobots limping around. They
were covered in crusted energon, clogging grease, and dirt. Disgusting really.
Sunstreaker took a moment to sigh, "Yeah.
Lot's of slag."
Sideswipe half-grinned at his brother's comment, "Could be worse."
A random rocket blasted apart
one of the nearby shelters for recharging 'bots. The Twins recoiled with quickness and skill. Sunstreaker wiped some dust
off his legs and chest.
"You were saying?", Sunstreaker asked his Twin. Sideswipe shrugged.
They looked over
to see a new bombardment start up on the Northern trenches a few hundred meters away. "I said nothing.", Sideswipe said as
he was hoping that the bombs and missiles wouldn't come this far in towards them.
The Twins began to make their way
to the Medical Center. Sunstreaker stopped and looked around at various scattering Autobots gathering up to go back out into
the front lines.
"Anyone know a guy named Ratchet? And where we can find him?", Sunstreaker asked.
Re:

One bot in the group getting ready to head to the front
lines turned when he heard someone ask for Ratchet. He made his way back to the mech that had asked the question.
"Ratchet's
out in one of the trenches, been there for close to a solar cycle."
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by jonhide
on Apr 24, 2008, 7:11am
Sunstreaker eyed the mech who spoke up. He was annoyed. Sunstreaker sighed, "Which trench area
is he in?"
"Heh.", Sideswipe chuckled a bit at his brother's annoyance.
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost
by havoks on Apr 24, 2008, 9:35am
The bot turned around and started moving out with the group.
"Do I look like
his keeper to you?"
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by jonhide on Apr 24, 2008, 10:38pm
Sunstreaker came
close to shooting the mech, but thankfully Sideswipe dashed over and eased his Twin's arm down.
"We don't need that
right now.", Sideswipe said.
"Fine. Let's head over to the bombarding. Either we die by explosions there, or corrosion
and boredom here.", Sunstreaker replied.
The Twins transformed and raced past everyone towards the trenches.
The
two brothers rocketed into the main trench area, transformed with various flips and whirling twists before landing within
the trenches themselves. They walked around, asking various Autobots where the medic known as Ratchet was. Finally they were
pointed to the far west trenches near what was once Xandusk Commons.
They made their way towards an open hollowed out
trench wall with tons of injured mechs scattered about. It was like the Spark Reaper's candy store. They saw a bulky white
mech cutting off a shattered leg. It wasn't exactly a pretty site.
They walked up to the white mech, who was tryign
to weld the stump of a leg closed. Sunstreaker took a step back as some mechfluid sprayed out.
"Ehh...You Ratchet?",
Sunstreaker asked.
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by havoks on Apr 25, 2008, 8:54am
The mech didn't turn
around.
"I'm busy, unless you're leaking fluid get out of here."
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by jonhide
on Apr 25, 2008, 9:02am
Sunstreaker folded his arms. "Nnhh."
Sideswipe spoke up, "So guess that's a 'yes', huh
Bro?"
"I'd say so.", Sunny replied.
The Twins took a few steps closer. "We've got orders to pull you outta here.
Like right now.", Sideswipe told Ratchet. Sunstreaker let his brother do the talking for the moment, as he was curious to
see how this medic was gonna treat them further.
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by havoks on Apr 25, 2008, 9:09am
Ratchet
still refused to turn around, too focused on the mech in front of him. The Autobot wouldn't survive the solar cycle, he knew,
but he would try to save his life anyway.
"I said unless you're leaking fluid get the slag out of here. I don't have
times for games."
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by jonhide on Apr 25, 2008, 9:13am
Sunstreaker turned
and pulled his rifle out, he then looked at his Twin. "Hold still Swipe."
"Huh?", Sideswipe said.
Sunstreaker
shot Sideswipe in the side, in a weak point in his armored plating. Sideswipe doubled over, grabbing his side, which was now
leaking a decent amount of fluid.
"There, we're leaking. Now you can forget about the corpse there and help us.", Sunstreaker
stated coldly.
"I can't believe you shot me!", Swipe said.
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by havoks on
Apr 25, 2008, 9:19am
Ratchet whipped around when he heard the rifle fire.
"Are you out of your slagging mind?!"
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by jonhide on Apr 25, 2008, 9:16pm
"Could be. Now, you going to help us?",
Sunstreaker replied.
Sideswipe held his side, groaning, "I hate you."
Sunstreaker nodded at his red Twin.
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by havoks on Apr 25, 2008, 10:58pm
Ratchet moved to the red mech's side and
eased him to the ground to start repairs. Ratchet refused to look or speak to the yellow one.
"You'll be fine," he
said as he patched up the armor plating. "Try to avoid breaking the welds. Now get out of here before you idiots get yourselves
killed."
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by jonhide on Apr 26, 2008, 1:24am
"Uh, um, thanks. But we've
got direct orders to bring you with us.", Sideswipe said as Ratchet finished his repairs.
"Meaning none of us have
a choice.", Sunstreaker spoke up, "So just get your things and let's go."
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by
havoks on Apr 26, 2008, 6:58am
"Are you glitched? This is a warzone, I can't just up and leave."
Re:
R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by jonhide on Apr 26, 2008, 10:01am
Sideswipe rubbed his side, then stood up. He walked to
Susntreaker and punched him in the arm. "I can't believe you shot me! Glitch!"
Sunstreaker recoiled at the tough hit
from his Twin, "Deal with it."
The Twins looked back at Ratchet. Sunstreaker stared at Ratchet, "What part of you don't
have a choice do you not understand? Command is sending a replacement as we speak, so these defectives will still get serviced."
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by havoks on Apr 26, 2008, 6:07pm
Ratchet gave Sunstreaker a dark look at
the word 'defectives'. He suddenly noticed that there was a lull in the fighting and the trenches, for the most par, had become
silent. Ratchet let out a sigh and rubbed the back of his neck. A whole solar cycle bent over in the trenches had started
to affect his joints.
"How many credits would you put down that this replacement wont last out here more than a few
cycles?"
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by jonhide on Apr 26, 2008, 11:07pm
"Don't know, Don't care.",
Sunstreaker stated.
Sideswipe looked at his brother, then back to Ratchet, "Ratchet, we need ya. Trust me, I'd prefer
to be out here breaking 'Cons in half rather than chasing down a medic and reporting to a starship assignment. But we've all
got our orders."
That was the first time Sideswipe ever really expressed words fo wisdom. The war does funny things
some times.
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by havoks on Apr 27, 2008, 5:51am
Ratchet turned and started
to walk away. He stopped and glanced at Sidesipe.
"You're too young to be fighting in a war, the only thing orders
will do for you is get you slgged. Find another medic."
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by jonhide on Apr
27, 2008, 10:14am
Sunstreaker adjusted his rifle's settings to stun, "Not an option." Sunstreaker fired his weapon
at Ratchet. Sideswipe tried to stop his brother, but wasn't successful.
"Why do you always do that?!", Swipe asked.
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by havoks on Apr 27, 2008, 11:19am
Ratchet heard the weapon charge and fire,
but didn't have the time to turn around or dodge. In quick succession his systems locked up. His final thought before his
processor went into temporary stasis lock was that if it weren't for the insignias on the yellow one, that he'd never believe
he was an Autobot.
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by jonhide on Apr 28, 2008, 9:56pm
Sideswipe groaned
and rubbed his optics, "I can't...even..."
The red Twin sighed and walked to look Ratchet over.
"He's fine.",
Sunstreaker spoke up and put up his weapon. Sunstreaker looked around as various Autobots stared. A few looked like they were
going to attack.
"We've got direct orders from the new Prime. Back off and deal with it.", the yellow Twin said coldly
as he started to load a wrist rocket.
"Gonna help me pick him up? And what are you planning to carry him on?", Sideswipe
asked his brother.
"That.", Sunstreaker pointed to a busted up hovering materials runner. The Twins loaded Ratchet
up on the flatbed of the vehicle. Sunstreaker looked around.
"We're taking this for Prime.", the yellow brother said
as Sideswipe sighed.
"We'll bring it back. Maybe.", Sideswipe said with fake half-grin. Sideswipe hated the way Sunstreaker
did things, but couldn't argue with his results. His brother was effective, if not cold and heartless.
The Twin turned
the flatbed runner on and took off, it sputtered and bounced along the ground every few meters as the hovering boosters flickered
on and off. It was a rough ride, but it was working.
Re: R*A*T*C*H*E*TPost by jonhide on Apr 29, 2008,
10:55am
Sunstreaker and Sideswipe arrived at the Monitor as the runner shut down and skidded into a small crash into
a pile of broken and rusted engine parts.
"Nice driving.", Swipe said his brother.
"Ehn, we made it didn't we?",
Sunstreaker responded.
The Twins grabbed the medic and drug him off the runner into the Monitor.
"He's heavier
than he looks.", Swipe said.
"That's impressive, he looks heavy enough. Damn tubby medics.", Sunstreaker said.
They
put the medic into the Monitor's in-need-of-heavy-clean-up Medbay.
