Post:
Prowl always did his best to maintain himself. Even during wartime.
Getting buffed was something
he wasn’t really familiar with though. He felt too shiny entering headquarters. He wondered if he should have skipped
the preening. But it was an important occasion.
It wasn’t every day the New Prime wanted to brief a Captain.
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender on Mar 3, 2008, 1:10am
Prowl
strode in to the Council Citadel purposefully, eyes front, pausing for nothing. The Grand Hall had been converted into a giant
repair bay. Mechs in all states of disrepair littered the ground, leaned against mighty columns, and begged for repair. Their
reflections shown in Prowls buffed surface. He gave them no visible notice, but he wished to Primus he could crash through
a silicon dune to get that finish off.
He went up the lift to the command level and stepped out into the foyer. The
receptionist was absent. In fact it looked as if their console had been pillaged for spare parts. Prowl didn’t need
direction’s to the Command Center anyway. He had scanned the building schematics the previous evening.
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender on Mar 3, 2008, 10:21am
The scene in
the Autobot Supreme Command Center was more discouraging to Prowl than the Great Hall had been.
Three of the Large
View screens that hung from the ceiling were glitching, the other was out. The proscenium structure of the room had clearly
been a matter of form, not function and as the room had come under greater strain the poorly conceived scheme had broken down.
Prowl recognized consoles, and workstations brought in from several different departments and makshifted into the Center’s
power grid. Aides moved quickly between stations, grasping data pads to download or upload information at other stations,
a task an adequate system would perform electronically.
Four over worked technicians lumbered through out the room,
clearly broken by the monumental task of keeping this mess functioning.
Though, none of these things were what concerned
Prowl the most. The worst part was the officers.
Since the council had transferred power to the Prime, and through
him the military, every politician, noble and busybot had gotten them selves commissioned as a Major or a Colonel. As the
worth while Generals were lost or entrenched at the front, these mechs had survived behind the lines and rose even higher.
Now the Autobot military was controlled by a cabal of opportunists. They certainly hadn’t done Sentinel Prime any favors,
and watching them stand around bickering while the planet literally fell apart around them you could see that Optimus Prime
had not inherited much of an army.

Mar 3, 2008, 10:00pm
A chime sounded. Prowl looked to the source. It was a counter, slowly but steadily escalating.
Above it it said, ‘Never Forget’. The chime was denoting that the counter had passed a 1k marker. It read 509,002
by the time Prowl looked at it.
At that moment Optimus Prime emerged from his ready room. “Is that chime really…”
he started to say.
The new leader was immediately swarmed by the useless brigade. They all talked at once waving data
pads and jockeying for attention. Only tidbits could be made out… “My requisition didn’t go through!”
“…need these validated…” “… haven’t been reimbursed yet…”
Prowl
had seen Optimus Prime in action from a distance once. If these were Decepticons, they would be no match, but bureaucrats…
“TEN-HUT.
Prime on Deck!” … it just slipped out. Prowl couldn’t help it.
Re: Ship of the Line:
Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender on Mar 3, 2008, 10:29pm
The control center stopped. Soldiers snapped to
attention, insignia bering burocrats starred in disbelief at the Captain with the audacity to challenge them, however the
whole room was silent.
“How dare-?” A large Colonel started to protest..
Prowl interrupted. “Subsection
Gamma, Paragraph Delta., line 4 of Standards and Procedures manual Alpha. ‘Upon the entrance of the Prime into any official
setting ALL officers and Warriors will stand at attention until acknowledged by the Prime and set to ease’, Sir.”
Prowl acknowledged his “superiors” rank with more than a little contempt.
Optimus Prime looked excessively
pleased. “What’s your name, Captain?”
“Prowl, Sir.” Prowl saluted. “I was ordered
to report to you this morning, Sir.”
“I should have guessed.” said Optimus. “Join me, in my
ready room, Captain.”
“But these requisitions-“ A general shouted, and imeadietly found Prime leaning
towards him.
“TEN-HUT!” Prime yelled, severely frazzling the General. Prime looked to the swifly approaching
Prowl. “I could get used to that…”
They entered Primes Ready Room.
Re: Ship
of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender on Mar 3, 2008, 10:51pm
Once in they Prime pressed a button
that sealed the door, and erected a force shield around the interior of the room.
“Excuse the security.”
Prime said moving to sit behind his desk.
“I understand, Sir.” Prowl said. “’Con’s spies
are everywhere.”
“Right…” Prime sat, looking at the door to the Command Center, “’The
Cons’.” Prime sat back.
“I read your report from Sector 23-684.” Prime said. “Very…
unusual.”
“Yes, Sir.”
“How did it make you feel?” Optimus asked.
“Sir?”
“Your
feelings about the incident, Captain.”
“Ah… it was… very unusual, Sir.”
Prime
Chuckled. Then sighed heavily.
“Captain, are you familiar with the blockade?” Optimus asked.
“Yes,
Sir. We are holding about a dozen worlds and strategic positions, to stymie the Decepticon initiative of expansion and invasion.”
“Affirmative,
Prowl. What you don’t know is that Hetawan, Forward base 2, and the Kex ship yards were destroyed 3 Solar Cycles ago.”
The
significance of these positions was not lost on Prowl. “The line is broken…”
Re:
Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender on Mar 4, 2008, 2:05am
Optimus punched a few keys and
a holo-map of the surrounding star systems filled the room. At the center was Cybertron’s star system. Radiating out
from Cybertron were zig-zaging interconnecting lines between the surrounding systems. These were the hyper space travel routes.
Most were colored blue, but radiating out from the lower Y-axis was a cone of red lines.
“We’ve already
redeployed the fleet to cover the opened Hyperspace routes, but we just don’t have enough ships to plug the hole. Even
if we did, the Decepticons didn’t stop to hold their ground. The Decepticon fleet punched strait through. We’re
already receiving distress calls from 7 inhabited worlds.”
“Primus… “ Prowl said under his
breath. “If the Decepticons are not contained… If they get a foot hold out in the galaxy…”
“Then
they will be able to reenergize and build new forces.” Prime said. “And all hope will be lost.”
The
chime Prowl heard when he came in went off again. It seemed to almost physically pain Prime.
“What is that?”
Prowl asked.
“That was Major Burn’s idea… It’s a simulated tally of the casualty count of the
war.” Prime explained. “Burn installed it in the middle of the night. Now they all say it would be unpatriotic
to take it down, that it’s a “solemn reminder of the consequences of our actions.”
“Sounds
like a surrender count down to me, Sir.” Prowl asked.
“The Command Staff believe that if the line is broken
that the only logical course is to surrender.”
Optimus said.
Prowl thought on the matter for a moment.
“What
a bunch of SCRAP.” Prowl replied.
“I had a feeling I’d found the right Mech.”
“For
what?” Prowl asked.
“Captain,” Said Prime leaning across the desk, “I have a plan.”

___________________________________________________________________Later.
It
took Prowl nearly half a solar cycle to reach the shipyard in Drex province. The area was nearly deserted, the once lucrative
ship building industry having been bombed out of the area. The ship yard Prowl was looking for had been a repository for retired
ships, suitable only for training, spare parts, or melting down.
Large gutted hulks lined the access roads through
out the yard. This place had long since been picked clean. But there was still one point of interest. Prowl drove up to a
large closed hanger, and transformed.
He approached the smallish yellow Autobot who stood watch at the door.
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by bumblebee on Mar 7, 2008, 10:03pm
The little
yellow cadet stood with an air of new pride at the hanger entrance, keeping a diligent watch. It was his first assignment.
Fresh out of the crude training he was drafted into.
A tall, silver mech approached the entrance. He looked official,
but then, Bumblebee could never be too careful.
"H-halt! This area is protected! Y-you'll have to go through me to
get inside. I mean, -er, talk to me, s-sir..." The mini-bot moved inbetween the new comer and the door, arms protectivly spread
outwards.
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender on Mar 7, 2008, 10:23pm
Prowl
crooked and optic brow at the little yellow mech.
"At ease, Private...?"
Re: Ship of the Line: Part
1-Prime DirectivePost by bumblebee on Mar 7, 2008, 11:19pm
"Cadet Bumblebee, sir, stationed to overlook and
protect this historical friggate." he saluted enthusiastically. It wasn't much, but it was
his duty, and by Primus,
he was going to do it the best a bot could.
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender
on Mar 7, 2008, 11:31pm
Cadet... that made sense... "I'm Captain Prowl, 3rd infantr-" Prowl almost forgot his 'transfer'.
"I mean, 9th fleet." Must have sounded odd, there was no 9th fleet this morning. "How's she look Cadet?"
Re:
Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by bumblebee on Mar 8, 2008, 12:54am
"
Ninth fleet?" Bee
tilted his head to the side, wondering when there was a ninth fleet.
Bumblebee looked over his shoulder back at the
friggate. "To be honest sir, I haven't stepped one foot in it." shrugs lightly, smiling "Though the exterior's rust scheme
leaves something to be desires for outward appearances."
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost

"Well Cadet, there's a first time for everything" Prowl stepped past the young cadet
and opened the door to the hanger. "I was supposed to meet an Engineer, Waffer."
Re: Ship of the Line: Part
1-Prime DirectivePost by bumblebee on Mar 8, 2008, 2:23am
"Oh. He got here about an hour ago. Had some notorized
orders to go inside and take a look." Bee replied. "I'll take you to him, if you don't mind, Captian."
Re:
Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender on Mar 8, 2008, 6:39pm
Prowl switched the mains on in
the hanger. The generator hummed to life and rows of high powered lights activated in sequence. Many of the lights had gone
out.
For the first time Prowl set optics on the A.W.S. Monitor.
The frigate sat slightly ajar on its moorings,
rusting. Twice the size of it’s modern equivalent it’s back end trailed out of the back of the hanger.
It
had been a patrol ship centuries ago. The lone survivor of the battle of Mechanic’s Spiral, it had been sent here for
preservation until it could be made into a museum piece. This historical status was all that had kept it from being torn to
scrap like all it’s other contemporaries in the yard. It was obvious even from the outside that it had not saved the
weapons systems from scavenging Quartermasters.
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost
by ender on Mar 9, 2008, 12:19am
“You wasted a trip.”
Prowl found the source of the comment. An
orange and green Autobot exited the ship and descended the misaligned gangplank towards Prowl and Bumblebee.
“Waffer?”
Prowl asked.
“Yup” said the engineer as he reached the newcomers.
“What’s the status
of the ship?”
“Ship? This ain’t no ship pal.” Waffer said. “This is a monument. Ships
can fly.”
“This ship needs to fly in 3 solar cycles.” Prowl said as the engineer reached him.
“Can’t
be done.” Waffer shook his head, smiling at a joke only he was getting.
“Why not?” Prowl asked.
“Why
not? Because this heap’s never gonna fly again.”
“Well, Chief, you’re just gonna have to change
that.”
“I’m telling you it’s
impossible!” Waffer shouted in Prowls face.
“You’re
relived of duty.”
“WHAT?!” Waffer’s optics would need to be realigned after the expression
he made at Prowl’s order.
“You will confine yourself to quarters until such time as the Prime chooses to
debrief and reassign you.” Prowl said walking past the former chief engineer. “You are reminded that these events
are classified and you are to speak of them to no one.”
“You can’t just-“
“Dismissed.”
“But-“
“Dismissed!”Wafer
exited the hanger and drove off into the distance.
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost
by bumblebee on Mar 9, 2008, 12:21am
"Wow..."Bumblebee watched with wide optics as the fuming engineer
stalked out of the hanger. He wondered why it was to be classified....as well as what he just got into. Primus. What a first
mission this was turning out to be!
"Sir, how
are we to get this fit for flight again?" he inquired, curious
but cautious.
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender on Mar 9,
2008, 12:50am
"We?" Prowl glanced at the cadet. Then his face lightened. "Bumblebee, congratulations. You are no longer
a cadet. You have just been granted the field commission of Ensign." Prowl headed for the exit.
"As for getting this
behemoth off the ground... We're gonna need a real mechanic. One who doesn't know when, or how, to quit." Prowl Transformed
as he stepped out side. "Come with me, Ensign, the Monitor's not going any where... yet."
Re: Ship of the Line:
Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender on Mar 9, 2008, 8:26pm
The building looked as if it had been assembled
out of scrap. There was a simple reason for this. It was. It also looked like a good breeze could’ve taken it down.
Looks can be deceiving.
Such was the appearance of it’s builders rampant genius.
It was hard to tell if
it was a retail establishment or a scrap yard sale. Workbenches covered in tools, projects and parts had flown from the large
open doors and out into the street. Above the open double doors it read “WeELjaCk’s woRk Shoppe: It’ll get
fixed.”. It’s proprietor was working on a suspiciously complicated looking piece of equipment… with a hammer.
Prowl
and Bumblebee pulled up to the shoppe and transformed.
“Hello, Wheeljack.” Prowl smiled. “How’s
civilian life treating you?”
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by havoks on
Mar 9, 2008, 8:31pm
"Prowl?"
Wheeljack put down the hammer he was using and turned around to see Prowl and
a minibot he'd never seen before standing at the entrance of his shop. After being discharged he hadn't expected to see anyone
he had met again.
"What are ya doing out here?"
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost
by ender on Mar 9, 2008, 8:53pm
"Just a customer." Prowl said, touching a dammaged piece of equipment. A spring shot
out nearly hitting Bumblebee."You seem to have settled into a wonderful life."
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime
DirectivePost by havoks on Mar 9, 2008, 8:59pm
Wheeljack let out a chuckle, his vocal indicators glowing with
amusement.
"Well, beats getting shot at and it gives me time to create my own projects. Though it's far less exciting
than one would think." He picked up a broken piece of equipment, studying it for a moment before he looked back to Prowl.
"So you need something fixed? What?"
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender on Mar
9, 2008, 9:14pm
"Oh... Just a little gift I was given." Prowl handed Wheeljack a datapad with the Monitor's most recent
scan on it. "Can you fix it?"
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by havoks on Mar 9,
2008, 9:19pm
Wheeljack took the datapad and began to study the information.
"I didn't think they kept ships
this old around... I'll take some work but ya, I can fix this."
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost
by ender on Mar 9, 2008, 9:53pm
"Good." Prowl said. "Then you've been reinstated. Chief of Engineering, 9th fleet,
A.W.S. Monitor. Congratulations. Pack out your trash, we launch in three Solar Cycles."
Re: Ship of the Line:
Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by havoks on Mar 9, 2008, 10:02pm
"Three solar cycles? Let's get going, there's
lots of work to be done."
Wheeljack grabbed hit tools, subspacing them along with his personal effects.
"Lead
the way."
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by bumblebee on Mar 9, 2008, 11:02pm
Bumblebee
followed the two back to the hanger, eager to see the old frigate up and running.
"Captain Prowl, sir, where are we
headed once we get her up and running?"
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender
on Mar 9, 2008, 11:06pm
"We're Going to need a First Mate. Some one with covert operations training" Prowl said. "I
think I know just the man. Ensign... get me the Iacon Com. Directory. Look up... night clubs."
Later...
Rain
poured down, it mixed with oil and ran throught the gutters of Iacon.
Here we find a mech who would one day take his
place in the pantheon of Cybertron's finest. Tonight, after a "very good time" he takes his place with the swirling colors
of leaked oil as it flushes into the drain. He hums a lively tune.
Prowl leaned over him, his chest's head lights blazing
into his comrades eyes. "Hope you got that partying out of your system, Jazz. You're not gonna have shore leave for awhile."
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by havoks on Mar 9, 2008, 11:40pm
When Wheeljack
arrived he was suprised by the sheer size of the A.W.S. Monitor. He moved right into the ship, comparing the datapad to what
he was actually seeing. He leaned out the entrance of the ship and spotted the minibot he's seen earlier.
"Hey Ensign,
whats your name?"
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by bumblebee on Mar 10, 2008, 12:03am
"My
name's Bumblebee, sir!" the mini-bot nodded up at the engineer, smiling. "Is there anything I can help you with?"
He
couldn't help it but his inner sparkling came out in his last sentence. His big sky blue optics nearly twinkled as he looked
up in hope for something to do- something to prove his worth.
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost
by havoks on Mar 10, 2008, 12:13am
"Sir?"
Wheeljack's head fins glowed in amusement.
"No need to bother
with unnecessary titles. Names Wheeljack, and I could use a hand in here. There's a couple panels I can't pry open on my own."
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by jonhide on Mar 10, 2008, 12:29am
Off on the
horizon entering this scrapyard wasteland was a golden-yellow blur. A speeding bullet of a ground racer darted towards the
wrecked hanger. As it approached, it skidding, turnign sideways, then flipped upwards into the air, transforming. The racer
completed three somersaults, landed into a cartwheel-like jump, and followed with a powerful perfect-landing stance. He was
good, he was Sunstreaker. The Best.
Sunstreaker relaxed as he stood upright fully. He looked at the mechs in front
of him, a minibot *shudder* and the flashy-earred nutjob mechanic he'd met a couple times before.
'Great. This already
isn't worth my time', Sunstreaker complained to himself.
His expression didn't hide his disgust as he looked at
them. He was annoyed already. First off, he had to report to this junkyard and secondly, no one but Sideswipe would be worth
his time to talk to, yet again!
"And they wonder why we aren't winning the war? With slag like this.", Sunstreaker
grumbled at the others.
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by bumblebee on Mar 10, 2008,
9:11pm
Bee was about to give the engineer a helping hand when a very sour-looking Autobot entered the hanger, snazzy
flip and all.
"Uh...sir? Who are you?" the minibot decidedly ignored his grumbling and reverted to a sentinal-esk
posture.
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by jonhide on Mar 10, 2008, 9:18pm
Sunstreaker
looked at the minibot with a "who do you think you're talking to" expression and walked right past him.
Sunstreaker
spoke up with an abundant amount of arrogance, "I'm the best thing on this slaggin' team. Sunstreaker's the name, remember
it. It'll be the greatest name you ever hear, scraplet."
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost
by havoks on Mar 11, 2008, 8:41pm
"Hello Sunstreaker. You get a visit from Prowl too?"
Re: Ship of the
Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by jonhide on Mar 11, 2008, 9:18pm
"You can call it a 'visit' if you want
to. I woke up from a recharge and found classified data files immediately staring at me. With a note from Prowl.", Sunstreaker
responded, "I'm here to keep all you scraps alive. The Twins are your big guns on this mission 'Jack."
Sunstreaker
left out what Prowl's note said...he basically had no choice as what to do. Sunstreaker hated being forced to do anything.
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by havoks on Mar 12, 2008, 8:23pm
"Good to know.
You mind coming up here and helping me get these service panels off?"
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost
by jonhide on Mar 12, 2008, 10:56pm
"Yes. I mind. That's not my job.", Sunstreaker retorted as he flexed to himself.
"Seen my brother yet? He was supposed to meet me here."
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost
by havoks on Mar 13, 2008, 8:17pm
Wheeljack just shrugged off the rude reply.
"Not yet, I'm sure he'll be around
sometime soon."
After a few minutes Wheeljack turned to look back at Bumblebee, deciding to leave Sunstreaker alone
for the time being.
"Let's see if we can get those panels off."
he better be around soon
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by bumblebee on Mar 13, 2008, 10:11pm
Casting
a sore look at the new soldier, Bee turned and walked next to Wheeljack.
"What's his problem, you suppose? Something
I said, maybe?" the minibot commented as he got a good grip on the panel. "Or is he just cheerful like that all the time...?"
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by skyswipe on Mar 14, 2008, 2:03am
The sound
of squealing tires and screeching metal could be heard as a crimson racer sped towards the shipyard. Sideswipe continuously
revved his engine as he approached the huge hunk of junk that some mechs considered a ship. He was well aware that this upcoming
mission was supposed to be a classified op and only key personnel were considered to
need to know, but he had hoped
that the brass would’ve been able to scrounge up a better ship than that old relic. He wondered if the clunker could
even handle the stress of getting off the ground, from the looks of things it looked like the hull could collapse at any moment
just sitting there in the yard.
Both Lambo Twins had been recruited for this mission by Prime several hours ago; Sideswipe
had been excited to meet the new Prime since the news of his coronation had first spread throughout Cybertron. Sideswipe rather
liked Optimus; he definitely had the charisma and leadership qualities that the rumors had claimed. He was not sure if his
yellow twin had liked their new leader or not, with Sunstreaker it was hard to tell even for Sideswipe.
As he finally
pulled up to his destination, Sideswipe’s optics picked up three mechanisms; two of which were familiar. Wheeljack and
Sunstreaker, he recognized immediately, but the other one he had never seen before, some little yellow bot that looked like
he could have just came off the assembly line. Sideswipe transformed into robot mode in mid flight and used his arms to initiate
a leapfrog maneuver using his brother as leverage and landing after a somersault.
“Thanks for the lift Bro,”
the red twin grinned, “Hiya Jack, long time no see. Who’s your little friend here?”

Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime

Prowl explained the blockade situation as he and Jazz drove
out to the Monitor.
"Only two frigates survived the Decepticon push, The Chancellor and the Diligence. There are also
several scout class ships in the sector that we have lost contact with. Most info on them was lost with the shipyards."
"We're
to proceed out into the sector and harrass the Decpticons in anyway we can. We won't be able to defeat their numbers, but
if we can hold them back, trip them up through sabotage, advance fortification, and a little old fashioned skidplate kicking
untill their supplies run low or until reenforcements can be constructed they maybe we can mitigate this disaster."
If
they get a foot hold out there, if they're able to get a supply or energon line back to Cybertron, then we're all gonna be
in that gutter I found you in."
"Chancellor and Diligence already out with the same orders."
They pulled
into the Monitor's hanger and Transformed.
"Well, There she is." Prowl said.
There was a sound of heavy machinery,
then a voice yelled, "HEADS UP!". A large panel fell off the starboard engine shunt and clattered to the floor loudly.
Prowl
glanced at Jazz and then back at the ship.
"You can close your mouth, Commander."

The academy lessons of ettiquette
that were stuffed into the minibot's CPU took front seat as Sideswipe approached them. Metal heels clicked together, check.
Legs straightened, check. Chassis out, check. Displaying the face and emotion of a dutiful cadet filled with determination,
courage, and the passion to protect the pursuit of love, life, and happiness, check and double check.
"An honor to
meet you Sideswipe, sir. Your assistance with these stubborn panels would be greatly appreciated." he saluted, optics glowing.
If
there was one thing the academy did, it was to ensure their cadets knew their formalities front and back till they could almost
be used as a weapon and put someone into deep recharge. Bumblebee was no exception; he did his homework. He was living his
dream, finally being able to talk to an actual soldier instead of the mirror.

Prowl and Jazz reached the Bridge. They
had to push open the doors. Dust had caked and solidified all over the surface of the door an poured over the two officers.
The bridge was covered in dust. Most of the stations looked intact though.
At the captains station stood a large blue
Mech. He turned and practically shouted "Greetings, Captain! Been keepin' it warm for ya!"
"Who the pit are you?" Prowl
demanded.
"Corporal Hot Spot. 5th Brigade." The mech answered.
Remembering the dusty door Prowl asked, "How
did you get in here?"
"Through there!" Hot Spot pointed to a sizable hole in the bulkhead that lead out into the hanger.
"Slag."
Prowl sighed.
"You must be Capt. Prowl, its a tremendous honor to meet you sir." Hot Spot saluted so fast he could
have knocked some one off line.
"Why's that corporal?" Prowl asked.
Hot spot's eyes smiled over his face plate.
"I... Don't actually know, but I'm just tickled blue, sir." He said genuinely.
"Don't you mean pink, Corporal?"
"No
sir, I'm actually blue." Hot Spot corrected.
Prowl blinked. "Right." He sighed.

Sunstreaker gave Sideswipe the typical
"you're late" look. Then Sunstreaker commented to his brother, "You always need my help."
Sunstreaker walked away,
finding a semi-clean supply crate. He wiped it off a bit, then sat down. He watched everyone doing whatever they wanted. He
was content, being off to himself here for now.

There was a sharp whine of feedback as the Ships PA creaked to life. Prowls voice cut
through the static.
"All hands, Report to the bridge."
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost

Sunstreaker groaned for a moment. "What now?"
Sunstreaker got up, looked
around for a bit, then headed to the bridge. Sunstreaker punched his Twin in the arm as he walked by him. "Don't wanna be
late do ya? Get movin' 'Swipe.", he jabbed at his bro.

Jazz was already on the bridge. He was quite astonished by this vessel. Not
impressed, but astonished... "It's gonna take awhile to get this ole tin can a flyin' again." he said to himself. "Wonder
who Prowl got to fix er up?"
He dusted off a console and looked over it. It was the main navigations station. It was
dim as if all life had been drained from it. He let out a sigh and spun around to face the others. Prowl and the newly arrived
Hot Spot were also awaiting the others.
He looked at the gaping hole in the ship's hull and then up to the cieling,
by the Matrix he hoped he got someone good to fix her up. His gaze went back to Prowl, "So who else have you recruited for
this gig?"
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by jonhide on Mar 19, 2008, 9:51am
Sunstreaker
waltzed up into the bridge's entranceway. He looked at Prowl, Hot Spot, and Jazz. "Hmmph."
He took a few steps into
the bridge, looking it over. "This scrapheap just gets worse every astrosecond.", Sunstreaker commented.
He glanced
back to see where his brother was, the others he couldn't give a slag about. He looked back forward at Jazz. "I'm surprised
you're able to walk, much less function on a mission. Last I'd heard was that you had become too friendly with over-energizing.",
Sunstreaker said to Jazz with a slight smirk.
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender
on Mar 19, 2008, 11:37am
"Thank you for volunteering, Sunstreaker. I have a pre-launch mission for you. In no mechs
land."
Prowl thrust a datapad at Sunstreaker. "You and your brother proceed to the aid station at these coordinates.
There is a surgeon there, Ratchet. He wrote "Busy" on his orders to report here. Drag him back here if you have to, I don't
care what he says."
"Can I go?" Hot Spot asked.
"No." Prowl replied. "Jazz this ship is barely armed. We're
getting a shipment of missiles tomorrow but we don't have anything to shoot them out of. Take Mr. Personality here, and rummage
up at least one Missile pod, and as many energy cannons as you can find. Don't worry about small arms. I can requisition those."
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by jonhide on Mar 19, 2008, 11:56am
Sunstreaker
clutched the pad in his hand, giving Prowl a "go slag yourself" look.
He looked over the information on the pad. "Well,
at least this might keep me a bit cleaner than working out here.", Sunstreaker mumbled.
Re: Ship of the Line:

Prowl looked around the bridge at his crew...
"What

"I hope I'm at the right shipyard," Bluestreak muttered to himself, adjusting the shoulder strap
of a large, heavy black case at his side and glancing around nervously. "If ships had graveyards, this would definitely be
one. Totally creepy-what's the military thinking, pulling ships from a dump like this anyway?"
He frowned down at the
datapad in his other hand, than at the faded lettering stenciled across the side of the hanger in front of him. The commanding
officer for this operation was a mech named Prowl ("Hmm, sounds familiar..."), and his orders had directed him to report to
the CO immediately. His ship of station was the A.W.S. Monitor, located at Hanger B-5 in the east quarter of Drex Province.
This
was the right shipyard, no doubt about that, Bluestreak concluded. Shrugging, he pushed the door open and went
inside. And stared. Something in his spark shriveled up and died.
"Prime said the ship was an 'older model'...but...slag,
that thing looks older than
me." He felt a tiny bit of his enthusiasm for this mission trickle away. He'd inwardly
cheered at Prime's orders, initially--a high-risk mission, 100% possibility of encounter with hostile forces. The chance to
make a difference in the course of the war. He had
not, however, banked on riding into the teeth of the Decepticon
army aboard a rusting, archaic frigate that had
pieces missing off its hull.
Bluestreak looked around the massive
hanger, realizing for the first time that he was alone.
"Aww, Primus, I'd better not be late--or early? What if everyone's
at a meeting or something? I hope I'm not missing anything important. I wonder how many other mechs Prime recruited for this
mission..."
As if on cue, servos groaned loudly and a metal ramp opened from the bottom of the ship; he saw several
pairs of armored legs inside moving toward the ramp as it extended. Well, that answered that question. Time for introductions!
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by Breaker 4.1 on Mar 19, 2008, 4:02pm
"C'mon
Hot Spot! Lets roll on outta here! I got just the place to find all those cannons and pods Prowl needs!" he said enthusiastically.
He exited the ship and transformed. He revved his engines loudly and rolled down the windows. Loud abnoxious music began to
blare. "Lets go!" he shouted.
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by skyswipe on Mar 20,

Wow, this guy really is right off of the assembly line, Sideswipe thought to himself as the yellow
mech saluted him.
“Sir? That just doesn’t sound right kid, you can call me Sideswipe, everyone else does,”
Sideswipe grinned at the cadet. He seemed liked a loyal and thoughtful young mech, and Sideswipe was actually kind of flattered
at the high regard he seemed to hold the Twin in. The red Bot did not really consider himself anything special really, he
just did his job and carried out his orders; of course, they had to be done with style that went without saying.
Before
he got the chance to chat with the young cadet anymore, Prowl’s voice was heard over the PA system requesting all personnel
to assemble in the bridge. Sideswipe could already hear his brother complaining, he was not much on formalities, or big groups
of people, unless they were beating each other up.
“Yeah, yeah, quit your complaining you glitch,” Sideswipe
teased his brother. As they all headed to the bridge, Sideswipe felt his twin punch him in the shoulder. “I’ll
get you back you slagger,” he muttered.
After a few moments the group arrived at their destination as Prowl began
to explain the situation and issued each individual their orders.
Great, babysitting duty… Sideswipe didn’t
really like the idea of chauffeuring someone around, not his idea of a good time; he really wanted to kick some Decepticon
tailpipes. He knew that Sunstreaker would probably hate it even worse than he did; to him, such tasks were below him and were
typically carried out by servant droids.
“C’mon Bro, you heard the mech,” Sideswipe replied unenthused.
Sideswipe began walking towards the ship’s exit.
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost
by jonhide on Mar 20, 2008, 12:59am
Sunstreaker eyed Prowl for a brief moment, then turned and followed his Twin out
the exit.
"Bro, why do I feel like we got screwed on this one?", Sunstreaker asked his red Twin as he transformed.
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender on Mar 20, 2008, 7:37pm
Prowl pressed
the Com button to the engine room.
"Bumblebee, if our chief engineer pulls his head out of that mess long enough,
tell him he has the con. I'll be in Iacon till tomorrow morning."
Prowl exited the ship, transformed and drove off,
worried he'd be late for his appointment with the Prime.
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost
by bumblebee on Mar 20, 2008, 9:45pm
"He wants me to call him by his name? Just his name?" Bumblebee
blinked in open surprise. The engineer had requested the unformal use of his name as well. He thought back and realized his
lessons never metioned the
casual side of military interaction. Golly gee whiz. Already two days into service and he
could kiss his hard learned p's and q's out the rusty hanger doors.
Prowl then called for their attention over the
Com.
The minibot looked up as the captian gave him his orders. He saluted at the ceiling speakers in pure reflex. "Yessir,
Captian Prowl...." but the captain was already on his way out the door when the ensign mumbled uselessly at the Com speaker,
"But what do you mean 'has the con'....?"

Wheeljack stuck his head around the corner, head fins glowing bright with excitement.
"There's
only a few energy converters that need to be replaced for the engine." He looked thoughtful for a few clicks, then his head
fins dimmed a bit.
"I'm not sure they even make them for this type of engine any more. Might have to search some of
the scrap yards. "
Wheeljack went back around the corner before quickly sticking his head out once again.
"We
also need new paneling!"
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender on Mar 24, 2008,

Later...
Prowl arrived back at HQ. The situation in the makeshift repair bay had not improved, but
the Supreame command center had an "improvement". A press box. The Rent-a-brass were lined up to be interviewed in it like
it was a confessional.
Colonel Burn's voice rose above the din of bickering in the command center.
"Attention!
Attention! I have grave news!" The room quieted. "The skirmish at convex heights has been upgraded to a battle by news station
12. We will have to upgrade to condition 4"
There was a general murmuring of agreement in the room. Prowl wondered
what condition 4 was. Burn, shut his eyes and nodded as if it broght him pain, then turned and pointed a remote at the "casualty
counter" hung above Prime's ready room. He pressed a button and the estimated casualty counter accelerated.
Re:
Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by Breaker 4.1 on Mar 24, 2008, 11:45am
Mirage cringed at the
sound of the "casualty counter." He found is distasteful.
Did these high ranking mechs that did nothing but push paperwork
all day really need such a reminder? Had it not been there might they truly forget what war was?" Mirage liked to think
that the answer would be no. He looked across the room at the sea of faces, all looked as though they never saw a days battle.
Then
he saw Prowl. He appeared strong and confident, his bright blue optics seemed to set him apart from the beurocrats.
"Surely
Prowl isn't one of them." he thought to himself. He held Prowl in high regards and the very thought that Prowl was wasting
his talents, signing orders away in a hollow, organized office made him shudder slightly. Without Prowl out there, where he
needs to be, many mechs may fall. Such was the regard with which Mirage placed upon Prowl.
Mirage let out a sigh. He
didn't feel right here either. If they had shuffled him here straight after boot camp then he might not mind so much, but
after being out in the trenches, Mirage felt that he was not being able to perform to best of his abilities. The lackey of
some high ranking officer he knew before the war?
"Hooray." Mirage felt a strong sense of sarcasm wash over him.
The
casualty counter tolled again. Mirage, cringed with it in unison, a fist begining to ball at his waist.
Re:
Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender on Mar 28, 2008, 10:06pm
Prowl saw the recruit who had
proven himself in the scrap storm in the wastelands and who had invited him to see how the other half lived only to have the
other half blow up in his face. Prowl was sad to see him festering in this dead place.
Prowl approached Mirage. "I
see "Colonel" Burn made good on his "threat" to pull you off the line."
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime
DirectivePost by Breaker 4.1 on Mar 29, 2008, 11:34pm
Mirage let out an inward chuckle and grinned. "Yes he
did sir...unfortunately." he saluted Prowl. "What brings you to
this place?" Mirage said as he sweeped his arms around,
gestruring at the place in its whole and utter governmental bore.

"About the only thing that could..." Said Prowl.
Optimus Prime stepped out
of his ready room, and gestured to Prowl. "I'm ready for you, Captain.
As Prowl moved towards the Prime he spoke to
Mirage. "If you want a real assignment, I might have something for you, Pal."
Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime
DirectivePost by Breaker 4.1 on Mar 30, 2008, 10:25pm
"And I'm interested." Mirage said plainly. "If you can

Prowl entered the Prime's ready room.
"Captain Prowl,
reporting as ordered, Excellency." Prowl said.
"Greetings, Prowl." Prime said. "Just for reference, I'm not fond of
that facet of my title."
Prowl looked a little disappointed. "Understood, Sir."
"How about, 'Optimus'?" Prime
suggested.
"It's a very good name, sir." Prowl replied.
Prime chuckled a little. Normally he wasn't ford of
Mechs with sticks so far up their exaust shaft, but he had seen that Prowl was liable to pull the stick out and smack somebody
with it, at just the right time and just where it hurt.
"Speaking of formality. " Prime said, and handed Prowl a data
pad.
It read.
I, Optimus Prime, by the power vested in me by the Council
of Primus, do hereby proclaim the creation of the autonomous Praetorian Legion. The Praetorian Legion will act under the direct
authority of the Prime who shall personally function as Legate of The Legion.
I do also hereby create Prowl to the
rank of of Primus Pilus, and invest in him the authority to defend the citizens and dependant life forms of the Autobot Protectorate
with full autonomy.
By the power of the Matrix, I charge the Praetorian Legion to uphold the values of the Autobot
cause, To value all life, and to make manifest our belief that freedom is the right of all sentient beings.
Till all
are one.
"I was having trouble requisitioning supplies with out telling the 'Military Advisory
Council' what they were for." Prime said. "They cried budget when I said, 'Strike Force' but no one objected to an 'Honor
Guard'."

Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender on Apr 1, 2008, 11:16am
"Induct the commanders
of Chancellor and Diligence into the legion when you find them." Prime said. "You're fleet will be entirely outside the chain
of command. You report directly to me from now on."
"Understood, Sir. I wont let you down." Prowl snapped to attention.
"It's an honer to-"
The Casualty counter chimed again. Prime grimaced.
"Entirely outside the chain of command,
Sir?"
"...Yes." Prime said cautiously.
"Then if you'll excuse me, Sir. I will begin to discharge my duties
at once."
"Good luck, Prowl."
Prowl saluted. "Thank you, Excelenc..." Prowl looked embarrassed. "Um... I'll
work on that, sir."
"Dismissed, my friend."
Prowl left the ready room just in time to see Colonel Burn step
back into the center of the room.
"Attention! Please!" Burn shouted. When there was sufficient quiet he motioned to
the camera crew at the press box. "Step this way please. Yes so you can see the Casualty Tally."
"My fellow commanders,"
He began. " It is with the deepest solemnity that I must make the following announcement. At the present time the Casualty
count of this terrible war has exceeded preset goals set by Myself, and the other members of the Conflict Viability Subcommittee.
Though we are not an official body we demand that..."
"Excuse me."
"...there be a full meeting of the Joint
Commander Council, to discuss concessions that might be made to alleviate..."
"Excuse Me." Prowl repeated.
"...the
grievances of the deception hegemon-" Three shots rang out. Mechs ran for shelter, covered their heads, but most importantly
everyone shut up. Only Mirage was un-fazed by the noise.
"Oh, I'm sorry everyone. I know you're not used to the sound
of weapon fire." Prowl approached Burn. "But those of us that are have something to add. While you sit around here pontificating
and pretending to feel bad while you make a simulated count our lifeless chassis, we're out there counting ammo and rationing
energon. I had to send good mechs out to BUY the weapons systems I need to protect your CR Saunas."
"We don't want
your pity, your sympathy, or your solemnity. We need your commitment. We need you to respect the Autobot Sparks of War before
they are extinguished."
"Very interesting take, Capitan." Said burn. "However, I and the Viability subcommittee cannot
be so blase' in the face of numbers like this." He pointed towards the casualty counter.
"I see no numbers." Prowl
said. Burn looked at the counter. It apparently had been the recipient of the shots Prowl fired. It hung off the wall by one
bolt charred to slag in several places.
"I'll have your Spark!" Burn yelled.
"I don't think so, Burnsy." Prowl
smirked. "Now if you'll excuse me and Centurian Mirrage. We have a war to win."

Prowl

He then made off

Re: Ship of the Line: Part 1-Prime DirectivePost by ender on Apr 8, 2008, 1:09am
"Ah, good." Prime
said. "The Dept. Transportation recently voted that I be afforded this remarkable craft for my conveyance around the plannet."
Prime indicated his personal shuttle as a small red and blue mech stepped out. His driver, Gears.
"It's a remarkable
craft. Turbo lasers fore and aft. Decent energy shields. Re-entry capable. Be a fantastic landing craft for a small capital
ship. Too bad I lost the entry and start codes..."
Gears Dropped a datapad on the ground.
"OH, Well." Prime
Said. "Easy come, easy go."
Prime and Gears Transformed and drove off, leaving the shuttle and the codes.
Re:

Mirage stared down in amazement.
The sight of the new Prime struck him harder then he thought. He looked strong, and his simple action in "giving" the shuttle
to their cause said more about him then what he could have imagined.
Mirage bent over and picked up the data pad and
stared at Tracks, speechless.

This impromptu encounter with the new Prime left Tracks gawking awkwardly besides Mirage. He wouldn’t
admit it to anyone but he was more than impressed... unfortunately for him, it showed! He wasn’t able to utter a single
word! The charisma of that new leader shook Tracks to his lasercore.
Then, after Prime and Gears had left, Tracks
was finally able to speak, in a low tone "Well, Mirage... hmmm... nice craft indeed... shall we go then?"
He did all he
could to avoid Mirage's gaze.

Jazz transformed and entered through the entrance of
the Monitor. As he did he activated his comm and called out to Prowl, "Hey Prowl, Jazz here! Me and Hot Spot got the things
you need!" he said with saatisfaction as he walked further inside towards the command deck.

During their journey to reach the shipyard
in Drex province, Mirage told Tracks everything he knew about the Praetorian Legion and the superb A.W.S. Monitor.
“Well,
Centurion Mirage, Tracks exclaimed in a lordly tone, I think that we’re in for quite a ride! I wasn’t sure about
it at first, I loved my old post, you know and... I still wonder why Prowl want me to be part of his crew but, this new mission
might be interesting after all.” A slight grin appeared on his face.
Then, they began their approach before landing.

Prowl looked
over the weapons Jazz and Hot Spot had brought them.
"Oh, well." He said. "Two antiques are better than-" Prowl heard
the sound of the incoming shuttle. He looked up and saw Mirage and Track's bounty heading in.
"What the slag..."

Mirage
landed the gift from Prime and exited. "Well, if theres one thing I can vouch for, it's that Prowl's missions are
always interesting,
to say the least." he replied to Tracks.
He approached Prowl and gave him a stiff salute and a smile. He handed Prowl
a datapad with the shuttle's start-up codes with a smirk, "It seems the Prime lost this. But not before he put a ribbon on
it addressing it to you."

"Know what this is, Centurion?" Prowl asked. "It's a going away present. Autobots! It's time to light this road
flare!"

Mirage
saluted, "Yes sir!"
Jazz did the same, "You got it Prowl!"

Prowl strode onto the bridge.
"As soon as our so called weapons are aboard,
detach all mooring cables, retract the gangplank and close all hatches and airlocks. Begin engine ignition sequence. We're
late enough for this shindig as it is."

The engines fired. The old ship creaked and shuddered as it slowly picked it mass up off of the
tarmac. It spun to the starboard and tilted toward the sky the engines thrusted pushing the ship with surprising speed out
of the atmosphere, leaving behind it a rain of small debris (and one unsettlingly large piece of debris)
"Mirage,
set course for the Kex Shipyards." Prowl ordered

Wheeljack's vocal indicators brightend with surprise and no small amount of happiness.
"I can't believe she took off!"

Bumblebee stood next to Wheeljack, mirroring the same expression. "Sizzling Cybertron! My first voyage
on a ship!"
