G1 Insecticons

Bios written by Jonhide the Administrator, with information taken from multiple sources, including TF Wiki.

Insecticons

The Insecticons are a group of unique and powerful beings within the Decepticon Army. They are not trustworthy and will act as rogues within the ranks. They have the unique ability to eat both organic and inorganic materials and then convert those materials into an energy source for their own bodies. The Insecticons would be extremely dangerous if they weren’t constantly hounded by hunger and disorganization.

Barrage Insecticon Gunner
Alt Mode – Rhinoceros Beetle
Winning means nothing to Barrage. Instead he concentrates on utterly destroying everything that he dislikes. To beat a foe is meaningless unless they are dead, then their body is rip asunder, burned, and then the ashes are scattered into the wind. Even then, he might not be completely happy. Barrage takes no prisoners and never will. He’ll shoot the injured, sick, dead, and anyone else if he feels so inclined at the time. He is horribly disliked by other Decepticons as well as his enemies. When he enters a battlefield his comrades fall back to give him a wide range of open space to shoot in.

Bombshell Insecticon Psychological Warfare Expert
Alt Mode – Boll Weevil
Bombshell plays with others like they are toys, dolls for his amusement. He is a master of psychology made a living terror. He uses mind-controlling “cerebro-shells” that once implanted into the braincore of a foe give him almost complete control. He savors every moment of controlling his new toys. Many Decepticons fear Bombshell’s sadistic glee of “playing” with others. They wonder if he would do the same to them given the chance…and he would and can whenever he so chooses.

Chop Shop Insecticon Master Thief
Alt Mode – Stag Beetle
Chop Shop is a kleptomaniac to the utmost degree. If you turn your back, he’ll steal everything he can. And he’s good at it too. If it’s not bolted, nailed, triple-sealed, and/or affixed to the floor or wall, he’ll take it in the blink of an optic. Even if it’s bolted down he’ll probably take it eventually. He steals from Decepticons just as much as Autobots, but most don’t even realize this yet. Chop Shop’s mastery at being a thief is so impressive he covers his tracks unbelievably well and has framed many a comrade for his acts of thievery. A few suspect much of his own body was stolen from wounded or dead comrades and foes.

Kickback Insecticon Espionage
Alt Mode – Grasshopper
Kickback is a charming and amiable, one of the most charming mechs you’ll probably meet in fact, but beneath all that charm is the heart of a conniving blackmailer. He makes as many friends as possible, then turns on them once he’s learned enough secrets to get what he really wants. Then they are usually bound to him for fear of his knowledge escaping. Humans fall prey to Kickback extremely easily, much to his happiness. Kickback has exceptional leg strength in grasshopper mode, being able to kick with devastating force.

Ransack Insecticon Warrior
Alt Mode – Locust
Ransack is a pure bred warrior, nothing more or less. He cares for very little in this life except fighting and victory on the battlefield. What others consider important he barely glances at. He lives for war and war is his life. He loves every moment of intense battle. He isn’t sadistic, despite his warmongering. He simply loves conquest and destruction. He’ll turn a whole city-state to ruin and walk away without even blinking. It is just how Ransack is, and Ransack likes it that way.

Shrapnel Insecticon Electronic Warfare Expert
Alt Mode – Stag Beetle
Shrapnel is the most eccentric and talkative of the Insecticons. He is also a capable leader and strategist. He is a master of electricity and his whole body acts as a lightning rod. He can bend, move, and direct electrical energy as if it were part of his own body. This makes him incredibly dangerous to anyone he is at war against. Shrapnel also possesses a truly twisted and dangerous mind. Very few would want to actually be caught up within his demented brain. Even Bombshell respects the complexity of Shrapnel’s mental webs of disturbing and torturous thoughts to the point he won’t attempt to control Shrapnel…at least for now.

Venom Insecticon Leader
Alt Mode – Cicada
Venom is officially the true leader of the Insecticons, however he is so paranoid of his fellow Insecticons plotting against him that he is usually not leading any of them for more than a few moments. At times he broods, plotting against his own teammates and their suspected plans of usurping him while the others do all the real work and team functioning. He trusts no one. Period. Everyone is a threat to his position of power. He is a naturally-skilled expert in psychological warfare, even more so than Bombshell, but due to his own psychosis he rarely uses his abilities for anything other than plots to somehow keep his status as Insecticon Leader. The funny part is Shrapnel has pretty much already taken Venom’s leader position through simply being there to act as one.
