the whereabouts of Mirage etc). The explanation to their non-appearance in the battle could simply be that they weren't there
at that time.

As to what exactly I'm up to
here is largely under wraps, bwahahahaha! Some clues for ya though: Mirage never appeared in the movie, nor after that for
that matter. Thus, many fans regard him as simply being killed during the battle at Autobot City.
Perhaps thats not
completely untrue...

Story Post:
Mirage sat down. He needed a break
after all this hard work. There was a time when he would've simply refused to do this kind of thing, or pay someone off.
Mirage
had been in charge of several minor operations within Autobot City. He was in charge of a few patrols as well as training
some new recruits, fresh from Cybertron, to be adept spies. Not only those things but he was also resonsible for several routine
inspections of various sectors.

Mirage let out a sigh. "I need some air." he said to himself. A giant robot really doesn't need fresh
air, but Mirage had gfrown accustomed to this world and he felt like it was somewhat a part of him now. He exited through
a nearby doorway and into a plaza. A large opening where some plant life was growing and sunlight poured in through the large
metal walls that was Autobot City.
Many mechs scurried here and there, going about their daily tasks. Mirage sat down
on a nearby bench.

Hot Rod
had just finished his patrol duty around the City and he was on his way back to the Command center to report.
He was
speeding towards his destination when he noticed Mirage. Slamming on his brakes, the sleek red sports car executed a thight
180 turn and headed towards the blue and white mech.

Mirage saw his brother-in-arms and dear friend Hot Rod approaching. "Good day Hot Rod.
And where are you off to in such a hurry?"

Hot Rod didn't bother breaking before shifting form near his friend.
"Hi there Mirage, enjoying the nice
weather? he said playfully. My shift is over and I was heading for the Command center to render my report."
"And, after
I'm done with that boring stuff, he chuckled, I think I will ask Sideswipe if he's up for a little racing challenge!"

he replied with a smirk. "Just be careful and don't let Kup find out!" he joked.
Mirage looked up at the sky, "Indeed
it is fine weather today." he said to himself. A sense of sadness in his voice, but not even he knew why.
The feeling
had been encompassing him the last few days. Why had he felt sad recently on a constant basis? He wasn't sure. Forebodding
feelings nibbled away at the back of his braincore.

An older voice sounded from just behind and to the left of the pair. It would be a familiar voice
to both of them, the voice of an old war-hero who had, perhaps, seen one too many battles for his time. And, as usual, it
was raised in a slightly scolding tone of voice. "And what, exactly, am I supposed to not be hearing?" Kup asked as he came
out from behind his inadvertent cover.
And then they mentioned the bane of all old-timers: The weather. Kup was nearly
distracted enough by that one to go off on a tangent about the predicted weather cycle would likely not allow the current
good weather to continue, but he caught himself in time to stop himself from changing the subject. "Don't you two go gettin'
into any trouble! The last thing Prime needs on his mind is savin' a couple 'a youngsters gettin' into more then they can
handle."

Kup's arrival startled
Hot Rod.
"Hi-i-i, Kup! he stammered. Nothing's wrong, you know me,eh? he shrugged. I was on my way to the Command center
and after that... off duty! Plain and simple, you see! As always..."

Mirage equally surprised at Kup's sneak attack shortly thereafter let out a
laugh. "Oh c'mon Kup give the kid a break. He's working hard." he said with a smile.

Kup heaved a great sigh of unfathomably insufferable burden. He looked over the
two with his fists resting on his hips in a super-hero like pose. "Bah, guess I can't stop ya' if you're off duty." He turned
to Marage. "Still, that lad has a lot of potential! He'll never get to use it if he doesn't start taking this post seriously!"
Then, back to Hot Rod, "And just because you're off duty doesn't give you an excuse to cause trouble!" Now he seemed to be
nit-picking.

causing any trouble. Not any that I could see." Mirage turned his head to look in the opposite direction of Hot Rod. "After
all, if we couldn't see him, how could we know if he did anything wrong?"
Mirage waited a moment then shouted, "By
Primus! Kup look!" He pointed in the opposite direction of Hot Rod.

Hot Rod snickered "Yeah, Mirage is right! What you don't see shouldn't worry you at
all, Kup!"
Then, he stared in the direction shown by Mirage and his optics widened.

Huh!?" Kup turned wheeling
about on his axis to face the direction Mirage pointed, pistol in hand and ready for anything! He was definitely and old-timer,
and while he wasn't quick to trust, he was quick to react to a threat. Whatever it was, Kup would be prepared to blast it
on a second's notice!

was desperately trying to locate what Mirage had seen. What was it : a Decepticon lurking nearby or, even worst for the young
Autobot, Ironhide, looking for him to have some explanations about the shift he quit a bit early an orn ago...
Still
nothing... then he glanced at Mirage, who was flaunting his “I got you!” look.
Hot Rod was fuming and
he threw up his hands in frustration “Oh, you think you’re funny maybe! he grumbled. Sometimes you can act so
childish, Mirage! Hmmmph... I have to go to the Command Center, anyway!” He swiftly transformed and immediately hit
the gas. His tires spun and squealed, creating a huge cloud of smoke behind him and he was gone.

Mirage let out a laugh, "I really do love that
kid. Someday, h 's going to do great things!" he exclaimed. Of course, Mirage didn't know how right he really was...

Kup looked to Mirage with a scowl on his face.
"Don't do that, lad! Nearly made me blow a cog. I should've expected as much from you, but I'll get you straightened out yet.

"I truly am sorry Kup, it couldn't be helped." Mirage pulled out a datapad and let out a sigh.
"The day is wasting away too fast." he said alloud. "Still so much to do yet it feels like theres no time to accomplish any
of it."
"Why so glum Mirage?" Windcharger was only passing by when he overheard Mirage's statements. Mirage looked
at Windcharger blankly. "It's nothing Windcharger. I guess I'm just getting old eh Kup?"
"Naaah, can't be that." Wincharger
said. "Your not that old! What, six, seven million years?"
"Older then that." Mirage replied.
"Oh." Wincharger
said giving the look that now he agreed Mirage was old. Mirage saw this and laughed a bit more. "Its ok Windcharger, I appreciate
your concern, I really do." The mini-bot replied, "Ok, well if you need anything, feel free to track me down. I'm the one
lifting giant steel frames into place over on the West end."
"Ok. Thank you Windcharger." Windcharger smiled and gave
Mirage a nod as he turned to leave.
"You still back there Kup?" Mirage asked. "Why don't you sit down and tell me
a story. I need something to break the monotony. I have to prepare some reports later and I'm dreading it."

I guess there's no harm in it. Still, I'm supposed to start on a road construction project before too long, so I'll make it
a short one. Let's see, let's see..." He thought for a few moments about an old war story he had. He just had to make it good
enough to keep the younger mech interested in what he was saying. The trick was deciding which one would do so...

Mirage relaxed a bit as Kup was about to
start his story. He was no stranger to war, but Kup was one of the only mechs to see it from all sides, and then some. His
perspective was welcome.

The young bot
roamed the City for a while… Then he saw that Mirage and Kup were still where he’d left them earlier! He transformed
to robot mode and walked towards them.
He chuckled slightly when he heard Kup “I can’t believe it! he said
gleefully. Another war story! Sounds like fun… as always!” he shrugged and cracked a smile at the old warrior!

Rod shot an amused look at his friend.
"Sure, thanks Mirage!" And he slumped besides him. He put his hands behind his
neck and said in a serious tone "I think it's a great idea for me to sit down because, when I listen to Kup's old war stories,
I can easily fall into stasis lock! And it won't hurt as much if I'm already seated, right?" A big grin appeared on his face.
"Sorry
for the interruption, Kup! he added jauntily. Go ahead!"

After some good storytelling, Mirage stood up and stretched. He checked the time and let
out a sigh. "Welp, I best be haeding out. I've got to check on Punch's progress..." he walked out of the area and on to more
work...
