Fireflight and Air Raid are have target practice with their missles and guns on the newly-constructed targeting range.

Air Raid dropped from high in the clouds."Fire Flight, Air Raid here coming in and doing a bomb drop." Air Raid said as he kicked in his turbo boosters.He was zooming down the clouds higher."55 ,40 ,35 ,20 ,15, 4."Air Raid said as he dropped one of his missles and shot back up in the sky.

Ironhide watched the young flyboys having fun at their little game of blowning up targets. He stood on the roof of the safety bunker a several hundred meters away from missile impact areas. Ironhide liked what he saw so far from these flyers.

"Maybe they'll be good for somethin' after all.", Ironhide said aloud to himself as he continued to watch the Aerialbots.

"Fire Flight, this is Air Raid move out the way.Going to do a double barrel roll where you are now and fire missles at the same time."
Fire Flight got the transmission and moved out the way at a perfect time because as soon as he moved Air Raid done the double barrel roll and blew up the targets."YES!" Air Raid said as he landed.

Ater Air Raid rested a little he shot back up in the air and looked at the direction of Ironhide."Hello Ironside.How long have you been there?" He said as he started to shoot his guns.The bullets shot threw the tagets like butter.

Ironhide watched Air Raid's shooting. "You ain't half bad there Raid.", he said to the young Aerialbot.

"Well I get a lot of training since me and good'ol Fire Flight are the only Aieralbots for the Auto Bots.So what have you been doing."

Fire Flight flew back and saw Ironhide and Air Raid talking."So you guys talking about me."Flight said as he shot up in the air.

Ironhide spoke up to Air Raid, "Welp, your 'brothers' are still out on their training exercises. Maybe when they finish you guys can get some real combat experience."

Ironhide turned to see Fireflight coming back in his usual, almost scatterbrained way, "Not really 'Flight."

"Well when can I go on a mission.If I can I want to go with you guys on a mission since I got some heavy firepower."Raid said as he looked at Flight."What are you doing Flight."

"I am going to try what you did."Flight said as he zoomed down close to the Earth and shot a missle.Instead of the missle hitting the target it flew toward Raid.

"Ironhide get down."Raid shot on of his missles at the on-coming missle and hit it dead on."Don't you ever do that again Flight.If you do make sure the target is behind you."Raid said jokingly.

Ironhide didn't move, he was prepared to act if he had to, but he didn't.

"You aren't ready for shooting targets! Much less a mission, Flight! Work on it.", Ironhide barked at Fireflight.

Flight looked at Raid."I got you late Raid.Just wait.I think I will stick to the machine guns."Flight said as he started to shoot the targets with his machine gun.

"When you can catch me coming then you can go on a mission." said a voice from nowhere.

A shimmering of white rectangular energy glowed and Mirage was suddenly visible. "But then again, most can't anyway so you should be fine." he continued. "You knew I was there though didn't you old timer?" he asked Ironhide with a smirk.

"I heard yer footsteps a bit ago.", Ironhide said with a smile, "But you ain't had much of any real experience either. An' I ain't that old, boy."

Ironhide walked to the edge of the bunker and climbed down the side ladder.

"But that'll soon change when you get moved to Prowl's platoon.". Ironhide said to Mirage.

"Depends Fireflight. Did you have anything in mind? Or were you just looking for a challenge of the firepower variety?" Mirage said with a grin.

He tapped his shoulder mounted missile, "I may not be able to make as much things explode as you but I bet I'm more accurate. Shoot, I bet I'm more accurate then even Ironhide!!" He took special care in saying Ironhide's name as loud as he could, hoping to playfully annoy him further.

"Awww, you guys are no fun." snickered Mirage. He suddenly fired a missile at a down-range target, hitting it and making it rain tiny target bits.

"I would've won anyway." he laughed. With that, Mirage activated his cloaking and vanished.

Chromia shrugged, losing some of her good mood. "I waited around to see if maybe you were up for some more practice or wanted to go get a drink or something. But you're busy so I should let you work. See ya around."

Ironhide turned and lunged forward, grabbing her arm, "Hold up. I never said I wasn't up for you. Just give me a micro-second or two, kay?"

Ironhide pulled her towards him a bit more.

"I'd love to get a cold energo-lager with ya. If yer up to it.", he said with a sincere tone.

Ironhide snuck in a quick hug and jumped right back to his terminal before she could react. Since the events in the trenches, the two had gotten to be pretty close friends, even borderline more than that, though they didn't openly announce it.

"Thanks, Darlin'! See ya there.", Ironhide said as he kept typing at his terminal.

Ironhide nodded and kept reviewing information. He was tryign to get done as fast as possible. He wanted to have a few with that fembot.

In the room and invisible, Mirage had been taken completely by surprise at what he had just seen. Mirage accidently scuffed his foot against the ground as he moved about, audibly giving away his presence. "Slag." he whispered to himself.

Ironhide stopped typing.

"Com'on out Mirage.", he said with a firm tone, "Why were ya hiding back there?"

Ironhide never looked back to see where Mirage was, as he was planning his words for the inevitable questions about to come from the spy.

Chromia came to a dead halt just a few feet from the doorway and looked back at Ironhide, her expression unreadable. "Oh, were we being spied on?"

Mirage relunctantly decloaked. He walked over to Ironhide and took an empty seat near his terminal. Swiveling to partially face both of them, Mirage's face mirrored that of utmost curiosity with a hint of fear at having been caught red-handed.

"So...you two seem...whats the best term to use here....."compliant" of one another."

Oh slag, thought Chromia. This was going to make it around the rumor mill in a hurry and like any rumor, it was going to be blown way out of proportion by the time it made it to the final set of audios.

Chromia felt a bit guilty. She should have just gone home and let Ironhide be. And she wasn't sure the best way to handle this. Ironhide had been playing these stupid little games a lot longer than her. She was still in the lower ranks and wasn't as experienced as Ironhide was with these things.

She pondered the situation and finally just settled on "We're just friends okay?"

Ironhide looked at Mirage, then glanced to Chromia's response. His optics finally fell back to Mirage with a stern look.

"Whatta ya think you saw Mirage?", Ironhide questioned.

When Ironhide looked up at him, Mirage flinched. He half-expected to get punched right in the face. And he knew that that was something he didn't want. He was also surprised that Chromia didn't kick him square in the jaw from across the room.

He looked at the floor, avoiding Ironhide's gaze, "Nothing, nothing. Just...two Autobot soldiers. Who were talking. Thats all." Mirage's sentence eeked awkwardness.

Chromia knew Mirage saw more than that and she didn't trust him to not go running off to Prowl immediately. She and Ironhide could be in deep slag if Mirage told Prowl and insinuated fraternization. To her and Ironhide, it was a harmless hug, but others might not think so.

Chromia shifted uncomfortably. She wasn't sure if she should stay or leave.

"No problem sir." Mirage said. He gathered what composure he still had and stood up. Still not meeting Ironhide's optics, he stared blankly at the opposite wall as he went to attention and saluted.

"Um, permission to take my leave?" he said unassuredly.

Ironhide looked over to Chromia. He sighed inward. This was awkward. He glanced back to Mirage and then turned to face his terminal.

"See ya at the bar later.", Ironhide said to Chromia, not looking at her.

"I won't say anything Ironhide! I promise!" Mirage tried to save himself. Ironhide had voiced what he didn't want to hear, the bing scrapped part. "I swear I won't say anything. I have no reason to!" Mirage put his hands up defensively and backed away slightly. "Theres no need to press me at all!" he said.
